Hey guys just wandering what the benifits of de smoging are my bike runs fine now but would like more input I have stock pipes that were Ragnar cut when I got  it. Running a kn filter with pre filter other than that it's stock I believe except for the darkside mod which I just took on  would like a little more performance without a lot of cost if possible?

desmog will get you nothing, unless it coincidentally fixes
a vacuum leak.

In my view, the benefit of a desmog is that you eliminate most sources of potential vacuum leaks which becomes more of an issue as the bike ages.  It also greatly simplifies pulling the carbs should you have to do that down the line, and it looks better with the pair valve and associated plumbing removed.

To me it's a nice-to-have mod, particularly if you work on your bike yourself.  But there is no impact on performance what so ever.

All the above is true, but you can expect the vacuum caps on the intake nipples to self destruct every few years, apparently.
