First time owner of a 98 Valk and need some guidance. I don't care for the stocks pegs it is hard for my size 13 feet to shift and the rear boards for the passenger don't fold out of the way to put the kick stand down. Been looking and see a front floor board option with a heel/toe shifter and rear floor boards that fold up. Before I spend that kind of money just want to get feedback for what works for everyone or doesn't work. Any help would be appreciated, please provide a brand name if you found something that works. Thanks

I've got floor boards with the heal toe shifter on mine.

I like the flat foot feel the boards give.

The shifter takes a little getting used to.

With size 13, you might consider getting a peg (board) lowering kit from MarkT.

He just did a new run of them.

First, I had a heel/toe shift on my 2nd and 3rd bike. LOVED them after I got used to using them.

Bought the Rattle Bar heel/toe with floor boards for my IS, and within one week removed them. I found that I would miss way too many shifts. After removing them, I felt it was the rubber shifter peg that was causing it to bind. Figure next time I would remove or change it out to a metal sleeve. IS written off.

Got a GW GL1500, bought heel/toe shifter again (a lot cheaper than the IS model), put them on, and again, 1 week later removed. Still have them.

Now with the IS again, I have the GW heel/toe and am thinking of looking into if they'll fit, and then modify them to work as mentioned above. I really do like them.

Could it be operator error? Sure. Not too many others complain about the same issue. Might remove the shifter and just use the floor board. Mounting points are the same for the GL1500 driver pegs.

If you replace the pegs with boards and then lower them, you will grind them everytime you lean into a turn.  If you are a flat lander thT doesn't like carving a line in the twisties, it may work for you.

Well that may be a bit of an exaggeration. I have the lowering kit and floorboards and yes I do scrape more often. But I've been on many twisty roads and still have much life left on my boards. The lowering kit makes a huge difference in comfort (and I'm only 70"). I'did remove the lowering kit because of scraping but put them back on because of the extra comfort.

Thank you for all the input have ordered the lowering kit for the original foot pegs. I am going to lower the shifting side only at first because the other side is fine. I figure an inch difference I can put up with without sacrificing the handling.

I also  wear a 13 and no problems shifting at all. Had a heel/ toe on another bike and really liked it but foot would barely fit between the shifter.
