I was checking my brake lights the other day and noticed that they only came on when I pushed my rear brake pedal!
Is there a switch just for the front brake lights, and where would that be?
I also noticed that I have to push down further on the rear pedal than I would like to for the brake lights to come on
All thoughts and suggestions are welcome

If you look at this graphic, between bolt #'s 16 & 18 you'll see two wires.  Those are the wires that hook to the switch for the front brake light.

You should be able to hear a slight "Click" when you pull the lever in.

If not, your switch needs to be cleaned or replaced.

That would be my first check.

You can adjust the rear brake pedal light switch by removing the chrome cover at the right foot peg.  It's pretty obvious once you take it off.

front brake lights

First, there is no "front brake lights" on any vehicle produced in the known world.  angel

Now, if you are asking about the brake light switch, on the front lever (RH side), then there is one. It's a micro switch. Start by seeing if the wires are still plugged into it. Then listen to it activating, a little click. Then take a continuity tester to it.

As for the brake switch on the brake pedal, it is adjustable. I forget which way is which, but it should show in the Service Manual. It's very easy, it's plastic. I think you want to make the spring tighter, which means unscrew the "nut".

Lever bushing or switch maybe, but often a few squirts of cleaner, a little scrubbing and flushing, and it works again.

thanks for the info guys
I unhooked the wires from the micro switch, I touched them together and the brake lights came on. Next I took off the micro switch, and it looks like the little nubby part that gets pressed in when I pull the brake  lever, is  broken, looks like that may be the problem, I'll have to order a new one.
As far as the rear brake, I tightened the screw about 3/8", much less effort needed to activate the lights.
The other day it was a little slick, I was kinda paranoid about the lights coming on since the front switch wasn't working. Needless to say I applied too much back brake and felt that back tire slide. Shouldn't be an issue now that I've tweeked the sensitivity of the rear switch.
Once again, thanks everyone for your input
