Houston/Richmond, Texas... For Now

« on: May 16, 2016, 08:36:46 PM »

After giving my 98 Valk to a buddy of mine that lives over in NE LA back in 09-10 when I went over to the middle east to do some GOV. type work, I got it back from him 3-4 weeks ago... I have done "some" work on it... motor runs GREAT and all, but it has a BAD front valve stem... So, I need to take off the front wheel, I have a ''Bike Jack", new front tire and bought the "new style" Jack adapter....

http://www.ebay.com/itm/170895926144?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

And I need to HELP installing it.... I have the tools... But, I also have 2 NEW knees and a BAD back...
anyone want to come loosen 2 nuts or bolts for me..... I can Hold the bike up off of you... Please contact me by PM or you can call or TEXT me @ 281-460-3794... thanks ...Ray

I'm in Beaumont, wish I was closer. The men in Houston are a helpful group, must be busy at this time. Be patient, someone will chime in.

Ray - there are some great folks in the Houston area.  I have no doubt someone will speak up shortly.  You should really go to the dinner meeting tonite and meet your Valkyrie brothers.  It should help spur some discussion.

As for your valve change, it's not difficult but I understand the issues with the body not cooperating.  I'd recommend finding an independent shop who will change out your tire and valve stem.  Can't see how it would cost too much, especially if you supply both, for a nominal labor charge.  Perhaps someone will chime in with a good place to use if they can't help themselves.

I'm in Santa Dr, I've heard of some using wood and a big c-clamp to break the bead of the tire with it on the bike. I can't commit to coming by t help. I have your number if I can. I'm trying to be at the dinner meet tonight.

Glad to help!

Probably should have moved the hammer before taking the picture! LOL.   (used to bend the hoist back in shape, not the bike!

Good luck!
