Well, I did something stupid and fried my headlights when jumping off the battery. First of all, this is the 1st time in many years that I actually let the battery go low from non use. I live in Texas and ride as much as I can. Nuff said about that.  When I replaced the original bulbs with brighter bulbs, both my headlights will come on when the the dimmer switch is on, and neither will come on when the brights are supposed to be on. Did I possibly fry a relay switch?  Right now, they are just hanging from their harness, but I cant see a grounding issue being a problem.  Any suggestions would help.  Thanks.

Two words "Battery Tender"

Check fuses as well as relays, use stock bulbs to make sure it's not a compatibility problem.

Your on the wrong board go to the 1500 tech board and you will have more luck. I doubt very seriously that you fried your lights they would be the last to go.

If you did this to the 1800 you would be looking at 1100.00 dollars and the bubs are NOT replaceable.

Yep, thanks. I realize that now' of being on the wrong board. And yes, I do have a battery tender, but just moved into a fixer upper and been extremely busy.  I feel bad about neglecting my bike.  We covered alot  of things trying to figure this out, including the proper bulbs.  Could not figure out if different bulbs would make a difference as far as continuity.  Maybe should try and get OEM.

Shame on you neglecting your ride  Grin All moving and work makes for a dull boy. But to the problem one screw take the headlight out and make sure your getting power to the bulb. If not it may be either the headlight switch or starter switch. Both will stop the headlight from going on and it depends on how the aux lights are wired.

Congrats on the new place hope all goes well.
