Ok, so this weekend kind of bit 'cuz the honey-do's stacked up, then the weather shifted: rain and a bit of sleet/snow here east of CoS.
So as ducking chores is my speciality, thought I snap a photo of my latest tax deduction.
He's about two weeks old, a heilan coo or highland cow for us sassenach (outlander) or gringo types.

The S/O wants to halter break him so she can ride him around the pasture. Dang fool thing to do if you ask me.
For some reason I could not sign into vrcc photostash? dunno.

Funny you should say that, when I was growing up I was the only one on the farm that did not speak Spanish....
Officially I am a Texan (expat) at least that is what I always told the border guards when they asked my nationality.

S/O's idea to go with the highlands. We had longhorns but too many people thought that longhorn beef was tough and stringy. We sold off that herd and she bought these guys from around Greeley Co. The cow was pregnant but not by the dun highland bull we got. Round off the herd with a dexter and a mini-herford and taxes are cheap.
If you REALLY want more pictures, gotta wait until I pick up some more range cubes to lure them up to the fence.

All the cows I ever met were female.
The males were either bulls or steers if they were unlucky.

One quick turn through the headgate and it forever changes their minds from ass to grass.

The wife was eyeing up the crimpers, gave me the willys.
