Author Topic: anti freeze smell  (Read 653 times)

Just done fluid flush  including anti-freeze   now when engine warms up I get a light smell of anti-freeze.Washed radiator well with water hose./as well as top of engine..tightened all clamps..any other suggestions  thanks guys

If no leaks, I would ride the beast and keep a check on it, could still be residual that ran somewhere you didn't wash. Wind and engine heat would take care of that.

I change mine every other year, and I ALWAYS have that smell for a week or so. But then, I usually overflow the neck either filling it up or when I blip the throttle. Give it a good week before you start tearing it apart...

The Honda brand seems to be more smelly, Prestone 50/50 way less.  Also, just be neat, don't spill any and it smells a lot less
