Specialty oils and all additives for vehicles are mostly gimmicks and scams  playing on peoples emotions making them think their car will run better , faster , maybe the same with these motorcycle motor oils .
No need for them .
I used car  oil in my BMW for 35K miles , no problem

does not most BMW m/c have separate engine and transmission? a regular car oil will not last in a m/c with a shared engine/transmission.  Diesel oil is the way to go.

98valk is correct. Any oil that says 'energy conserving' for our bikes is not good.  The clutch will slip, especially under hard acceleration.
Diesel oil don't usually say 'energy conserving' on the back circle.

Car oil 0/40 and up do not have energy conserving stuff in it. BMW Boxer engines and the flat 4 flying brick engines both have dry clutch, all BMW engines today including Boxers have unitized transmissions and wet clutch. BMW's require --/50 oil anyway, so car oil is not so bad but in an air cooled engine I would rather be using an oil spec for air cooled engines. I can sometimes get as anal as the next guy...

Just changed mine at just under 4000 miles.
Amsoil 10w-30 metric motorcycle oil and Amsoil EA filter.
