.....(snip)If you have decided not to try the FI on your bike I am interested .
It's been pretty hot an humid . I hope you have a cool place to do your work, installing the new engine.

I've definitely decided to not use the FI setup on my bike so all of it is available. There are a number of extra hoses attached to the cooling system, where possible I left them hooked up for reference. When I removed it, I left all the wiring in place as well....as much as possible and still be able to remove the system. The only thing I have left to pull as I recall is the device on the back of the rt. head, an afterthought....might be removing the single pulse generator under the belts and install my two. I haven't looked at the trigger wheel yet so don't know if that's different. Whatever comes off re. the FI will be included, quite a collection of stuff. I'll be taking some pictures today.
Shoot me your email, I have some pictures of the stuff I pulled off. My email:
stuffy402@aol.com I'm pretty much done with the changeover, still a couple minor things then will be ordering some gaskets. Still have to clean it up, out of curiosity I pulled the dipstick....found they didn't drain the oil before shipping.

I was relieved to find it has a good alternator, I'll probably pull the rear cover off and remove the good one on the old engine. The first thing I did with this engine was to turn it over by hand a number of times. Thank goodness nothing was hitting internally.

As for comfort in this weather, I have an a/c & heat vent going into the garage. Comes right off the air handler plenum, I cut into it maybe 15 yrs. ago and ran a line about six feet over to the garage wall. Cut a hole in that wall for the vent and mounted it. When the temps are in the 90's I can work out there all day with a couple fans running. Same in the winter, keeps it warm enough to work in shirtsleeves.
