Everytime I ride in the rain, my dash display goes out, the fuel gauge stays on but radio and/or time display goes out radio sound shuts off on 99 Valk Int. After the rain stops and things dry out it comes back on?
Any suggestions to look for and check?? Thanks

It's really hard to find the source of those kind of problems, so I suggest first trying to isolate different sections of areas with a view to eliminate those areas.
Saran wrap or similar stuff wrapped around whole groups of wires and connectors. Inspect behind covers looking for signs there is no water intrusion, with a view to eliminate those areas.
I'd kinda think it's in the fairing but sometimes things will really fool you.
Wrap up the control on the left handlebar. There are a lot of functions in that one area.
Have you tried using the hose as an aid to find the area? I don't mean a general hosing down but a controlled spray to a specific area.
As long as things return to normal after a drying out period I would not think using water from a hose can do any permanent or lasting damage.

I have found in these situations it will totally go out eventually.
If you go into the fairing hunting, look for wire connections that have signs of green tarnish starting on them.. Like the end of the terminal male/female connector and where the wire connect.

I have had a similar problem several times. Some spray electrical contact cleaner shot into the left-mounted control head (radio switch box), then working the switches back and forth, repeating as necessary, has solved it every time.

I have a new to me I/S and that happened to me the one time I have ridden in the rain. Something happened that suggested to me that the problem was somewhere at the left controls, though I don't remember exactly what it was now.
But I'll be using Rocketman's suggestion above to try to correct it.

Mine has done that a couple of times in a real hard rain. It is when the control on the left handle bar gets wet. I have put a baggy over it when get caught out. That helped. I think it is a common problem with the I/S. Everything will come back on when it dries out.

It's very simple. Don't let the radio control box on the left bar get wet. I always keep a couple of Ziploc bags in the trunk for when I think it might rain and for when I wash the bike. I experienced the same problem 2 times back in 2000 when I got the I/S. I have kept it dry ever since and have never had anymore problems.
