Hi everybody.

I've got a 1998 Tourer and I'm looking for new horn recommendations.

I've got the Wolo installed now next to the petcock, but it's dying after only about 2 years. So not sure I want to replace with the same again.

Doesn't matter to me if it's air or electric. I'd prefer something I can just bolt on with out having to manufacture any extra brackets myself (tho I can get some simple stuff made).

I see the BigBF horns. How are those long-term hiding under the bike like that. I've got the adapter for a bike like installed on my bike. Will the BigBF fit with that on there? (Something like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/VALKYRIE-HONDA-LIFT-JACK-ADAPTER-NEW-1-MUST-HAVE-MOTORCYCLE-ITEM-Save-/170895926144)

Thanks,
John

He has a mount that is designed to work with a lift adapter installed on the bike.

I can testify that his quad horns are very loud!

Gods. I don't know how I missed that.

But I have to pull the adapter off to drill the hole. Ugh. It was a pain installing it to begin with.

Thanks,
John

looks like it'd be effective (the quadhorn) but i see a belly tank in my future and i'm using a lift adapter from MarkT...

the stebel horns are popular with the klr crowd, does anybody have any experience with those?  i'm running stock horns on both my klr and my valk...

BigBF just installed a set of his quads for me AND I have a pro-lift, lift adapter permanently installed.  No issues.  HIGHLY, recommend.

I just had BigBF install the quads on my trike at Inzane. To me they seem to be at least 10 times louder than the Wolo I had. Highly recommend.

I have the Stebel and it's plenty loud.  The chrome doesn't hold up too well.  I think the same horn is also sold as the Wolo.

I ordered the BigBF horns yesterday.   Smiley

I already have a relay installed, so I'll just need to drill a hole in the lift adapter and then route wires down to the bottom of the bike.

A little late, you've already order something.

GL1800 dual horns. Others have done regular car horns from the wrecker.

I bought a Wolo horn, and within a year it wasn't working. Didn't think the Stebel would be any better. My new-to-me bike also had a Stebel on it, and it sounded like it was horse. Not working also. Replaced with the OEM IS horn I had.

I received and installed the BigBF horns last night.

Damn.

Loud.

Even tho you know it's coming it still makes you jump just a bit when you press the button.  Grin

I have a fire truck horn installed on Deerslayer and witesses say it's unparalleled in volume.  However it's not an easy install - though the air system is nice for other reasons, like air shocks and filling tires. The air tank is under the swingarm - not compatible with belly tanks.

So for now I installed a Wolo on Jade, which has a belly tank now.  And designed and put in production a permanent and lightweight, easy to install lift adapter which is compatible with all known aftermarket accessories that occupy the space under the swingarm, including belly tanks and BigBF's quad horn. Works with or without the belly tank.
Not too expensive, at $58, and in stock. Gave away a couple of them at Inzane. Drop me an email, PM, or call... Horseapple.com
