I read today the major improvements in the tire issue. It seems that the Pirelli Scorpion Trail II is awesome on wet roads and the Bridgestone Battlax Adventure A40 too (as we call them in the old world). Of course, they are designed for trail bikes (R1200 GS water cooled  Kiss) not for heavy bikes like the F6C. Still ! As our life changed since we use Michelin PR4 Trail, these new tires look interesting even though they're only available in 120/70x19  for the front wheel (like the PR4 Trail we have now).  :cool dude:
Alas my PR4 Trail is only 5,600 miles old, I intend to use it until 15,000 miles probably  Evil

How are you liking the PR4 Trail in the front? and are you using the PR4 GT for the rear? How much were the tires in France are they expensive? I paid around 300.00 for the pair of tires here ordering them on line.

I looked at the tires on line and the pirelli Scorpion had some good reviews but the Brigstone not as much. The tire wear was good and the handling both dry and wet was good on the Pirelli according to the reviews. It also seems that those that want a matched set of tires the rear is also available in the Pirelli since they offer it in both sizes a 180/55/17 rear and the 120/70/19 front. The Brigstone does not offer the rear tire in the Battlax to fit our bikes. Good find for those that want something different in tires that the Micheline

@Robert, yes I have a PR4 GT on the rear and as Adrian says, my life has changed since I dumped the OEM Dunlop (une grosse merde  Grin). I wouldn't say my bike is now a sport bike (the pegs are brand new and I like it that way) but I do not fear the wet roads anymore (rainy autumn, rainy winter, rainy spring here in the old world  Embarrassed). Before this PR4 Trail on the front, I had the Dunlop they have on HD which is better than the OEM.
If I had to change both tires in a tire shop, it would cost me +/- 400 $ (and 600 € if I went by a BMW dealer  2funny) Fortunately, my tires usually last long, circa 16,000 miles for the rear one and less for the front one.

What I read about the Pirelli Scorpion Trail II is amazing. They say that the braking distance with the Pirelli is 32 meters on a dry road (with a R1200 GS speeding at 80 km/h = 50 mph) and only 33.6 meters on a wet road.
Bridgestone A40 : 31.7 meters on dry road/33.3 meters on wet road
Dunlop Trailsmart : 32.3/34.7
Continental TrailAttack 2 : 31.4/38
Michelin Anakee 3 : 32/35.9 (4 meters more !)
Metzeler Tourance next : 32/38

As you can see, the differences are huge. The Bridgestone is #1 in the braking distances but the Pirelli handles better and makes the ride on wet roads a piece of cake, provided that they are warm enough. I had the Michelin Anakee on my R1200 GS 2013 and they were fine though.

BTW, I ordered your chrome cover 12 hours ago and I have just received a mail, they've already sent the item  crazy2 cooldude
