Has anyone tried scoot works phat risers 2 on a standard Valkyrie?  If so how do you like them and did you need to change cables?

Has anyone tried scoot works phat risers 2 on a standard Valkyrie?

I have not.

Stock riser is 2 1/8".  Four inch risers require no changes (other than maybe turning the wire clips on the back of the handlebars around 180*).  Five and a half inch risers require you to run the throttle cables inside the triple tree.

Scootworks II only says 2" up and 3" back but not overall length; but they look closer to 5.5", than 4". Scootworks site also says rerouting inside the tree is necessary for some bikes.  No specific info for Valk given.  Call them and ask.

If it's close thing (installing with no changes) you must absolutely test with bike running in neutral, and then turning the bars from lock to lock to make sure you don't get an involuntary goose of the throttle.  That is not something you want to discover while riding in a tight turn.

Four inch Aeromach.

Five and a half inch Harley Deuce knockoffs. (also require cutting a dome off the bottom and conversion (sae to metric) bolts or drilliing the tree out a few thousandths) (some adds call them 6")

It looks to me like they will require the throttle cables inside the tree.  If so, the harley deuce (also have to reroute inside the tree) are about half the price and nice looking, but a little more work, as above noted.  I have them on one bike (and the four inch Aeromachs on the other).

Conversion bolts.  http://www.phatperformanceparts.com/LA_Choppers_Handlebar_Risers_Mounting_Bolts_1_2_p/lac-risers-studs.htm

However, drilling the few thousandths necessary (to use the half inch sae bolts that come with them) out of the tree holes barely shaves any metal at all, and you can always safely return to metric bolts/risers with no worries.

You will not need to re-route your cables for the Phat Risers 2. You will only need to cut off 1 of the plastic ties that secure the cables to the handlebars.

I have had mine installed for about 4 years now and love them. If you need more pull back, then get the Harley deuce risers. You can also find the Phat Risers on sale from time to time. They sometimes will have blems for sale with nothing wrong with them. Hope this helps!

Thanks to all for your help.  I went with generic deuce risers and love them.  Much easier on my short arms and body
