Only one bags will fit the OEM mounts without modifying one or the other

Made my own brackets using some 3/4 plastic panel and the brackets that come with the bags. Did manage to make a set of eBay knockoff bag rails fit though as per BF's write up.

I'm sure you can manufacture some generic mounts to work on any bike.  I have mounted hard bags a a few motorcycles and it's never been hard to do.  Patience and enough tools and you can put a mount for the space shuttle on that thing.

I did mount my tsukayu jumbo strong bags last weekend. I have the fiberglass version. The bags themselves are thick and strong, very well made. The mount engineering is shabby at best.
The mounts, however leave something to be desired ... correct fit.  Cry

My bike has 10mm front fender rail bolts and 8mm rear bolts. They sent two bolts of each size, but ALL four of the mounts for the bags have 10mm holes up top. I did find bolt sleeves to use on the 8mm to get rid of the slop, and made some aluminum spacers to hold the mount far enough away from the rail to make them usable and align the mounts. I also replaced the 8mm bag mount stainless hex head bolts with stainless button head allan bolts to get rid of possible snag points inside the bags. In the future, I plan on losing the cage nut inside the fender, and enlarging the rear bolt holes to 10mm. I will also have stainless or chrome spacers made to my dimensions for solidity and change the bolts to button top chrome for looks.

They do look decent (not color matched), but I still need to improve the mounts. Six hours to mount them is ridiculous. tickedoff tickedoff

Gee, I have spent six hours just thinking about doing something like that, without getting anything done...   Smiley

Yep! The stock brackets leave a lot to be desired! I had mine mounted with the stock hardware for 12mths, but noticed when bags were loaded they would flex too much for my liking. Took the bags off and found some thick plastic panel and glued and bolted it to the outside of the bag and then put the brackets back on. Doing that and attaching the bag rails underneath the bags had formed things up immensely!

Spent six hours MOUNTING them. I've had them in my possession for 5 weeks, figuring out HOW to fix the engineering the manufacturer did not do.

I haven't loaded them too much yet, but I plan on stabilizing them more with custom LED brake / running / turn light bars later.

I'm also thinking about putting a grab bar between the two spacers when I have them made.

These are the old style Jumbo Strongs,, I added the bar from the muffler hanger to the underside of the bags, cut a piece of aluminum sheet for the back of the bag for reinforcement, put two pieces of aluminum sheet inside the bags where the bolts go through, and connected the bags in the rear with a rig I made from stainless tube,,,, they were solid as a rock with any load in them. I ended up removing the rig I made to connect the bags in the rear as it looked tackey and was unnecessary.  Tsukayu will provide a "U bracket" to connect the bags in the rear for additional stability.
