It took a while but I finally got it done. There may be some changes to it as I think of things I may have forgot to include.

Anyway enjoy the adventure with us.

Dave

Dave, as always, a great report. That was a neat adventure. Loved the pics. I have been to many of the places you guys visited, so it was nice to relive the experience from a different perspective.

The u joint that went out only had 25,000 miles on it. It was one that I had made up to be a rebuildable joint. It was a balance issue that caused it to fail not lubrication. When I put in my spare I couldn't believe how much smoother the bike was. There was nothing wrong with the old joint I just replaced it when I had the bike apart to paint. I replaced all the bearings as well. The bike had 125,000 miles on it when I did the paint. It now has 157,000 miles on it.

Interesting report.  Glad I got to meet you the other day at Highland.   And you are correct mostly Harleys for sale at the end of the driveways.  The other thing we've noticed.  A lot of riders have their motorcycle sitting by the garage while they are mowing the lawn on their John Deere tractor.   Ride safe my friend.
