It's been too long since we had pie in Edom, so I'll lead a ride there on July 23rd.  Will post the details after we see if anyone wants to go.

Hands Up! - nope, can't use that phrase anymore.

How about - let me know if you're interested.

I will be out of town.
I wanted some of that pie.
The other place with great pie like Edom, Clark's BBQ in Tioga burned down.
Anybody know of other places like that?
If not, I know where to go for fried Cheese cake.
Have fun.

You forget the Koffee Kup in Hico?  GREAT PIE there, too.  We can do that trip in September.

Rainmaker,

I am in for a ride to Edom, if you have enough interest.

Peach Pie, Apple Pie, that's all healthy calorie free ingredients?  lol

I will keep an eye out for the details.

I will be coming to join you from Weatherford.

Bump for pie.

There are forces at work to make me leave town, but if not, then I'll leave town with you for pie.  Thanks for keeping us riding and fed!

I want to start by thanking Mark, Gary, Larry and my good friend Jamie for being there for me.  cooldude

Unfortunately, I was the one doing the gymnastic down the blacktop as my Valk decide to take a little ride without me.

We were having a great ride and just left our watering stop.  We got back onto the road and I saw a sign that said loose gravel.  I turned around and I thought we were making a turn so I braked and that is when my Valk decided to drop me off.  I hit the blacktop and started rolling down the road.  I was told that my Valk jumped back up on two wheels and continued past me.  I ended up on the opposite side of the road and my Valk ended up a little further past me in somebody's front yard.  The next thing I know is Gary saying he needs to get me off the road since there was an 18 wheeler in the lane I came to rest in.

I checked myself by moving my fingers and toes and then I proceeded to slowly move off the road.  All the traffic stopped and folks got out of their cars and called 911 and they were checking to see if I was okay.  As I sat on the grass, I was asked where the pain was.  I said on my hands, arms, legs but noticed that my left foot hurt the most.  My boot looked fine so I took it off and noticed my sock was all ripped up.  I started  to look at my big toed and noticed something white sticking out and that was when I stopped looking.  I dislocated by big toe and it poking out of the skin.

I was taken to Baylor in Dallas and Gary followed on his bike.  Mark, Larry and Jamie got my bike and loaded it on a trailer and brought it back to my house.  The specialist at Baylor looked at my toe and snapped  Cry it back in placed and stitched it up.

I just got home and I am a little sore but I am still walking.  Considering what happened, I think an angel  angel was watching over me.  An old man like me is not meant to roll down the road doing 50mph.

Thanks again to Mark, Gary, Larry and Jamie for helping me out and being there for me.

What a horrifying sight to see Dave going down in my rear view mirror!  I could only watch and pray.  Cry Then it was so strange as I was slowing down to see Dave's interstate just tooling along past me, then rolling down a ditch, up the other side and then doing a u-turn in a yard where it rolled to a stop and just leaned over.  Past signs, poles, everything.  Wow.

I am so sorry that Dave had the accident.   He is a good rider.  These things just happen.  I am very happy he was not seriously injured.  The road gremlins reached up and did their best, but the angels were there to keep the injuries from being more than they were. angel

Thanks be to God for his mercy today.

Glad an enlightened conversation can be had, could have been worse. My plan was to surprise the group by riding up from here, KSU for me at about 8:00AM. My wife is in New Orleans so At the last second I decided to stay at home and cut grass all day. The surprise would have been on me, the last time I rode to Edom I couldn't see the restaurant from across the street. Rain and lightening badly.

Here's to healing and getting back on the Interstate.
