Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

Seems like the CBR is always our last 'official' ride. Hate this time of year.  tickedoff I have leaves on the ground, garden is about done, beans about ready to combine, propane goes up in price, and snow in WY. I know, still have a month or so to ride, but have a lot to do before winter in between jobs. I have a window that needs to be put in, wood needs hauled to the basement, wood pellets need to be bought, and misc farm stuff. Gotta oil change our trucks before winter, clean the garage up, and make room for the Lady so she can hibernate. No more poker runs or dealer sponsered event either.
What happened to summer when all you had to do was work and mow yard? After mowing for 2 hours or so you could hop right on and go ride somewhere for a few hours. Granted it was a very mild summer for us but it went fast. Now we ride in between the rain and it gets dark early. My miles have been down this year, even tho I made just as many events as last year.  Undecided Oh well, theres next year. We do usually one last trip somewhere before we park the bike. We plan on riding to the west of Ind and swing down south, and then back north for a weekend. Might be a few of us. Come the Nov 1st'ish she gets her own corner of the garage.  Cry Hopefully this board (except for the politics  Angry ) and the Sturgis board keep me sane this winter.  Evil

See ya on the Bourbon run and the 70th.

I understand your angst Fudgie.  Down here we start feelin' about the same around June, except for the wood haulin', wood pellets ,propane and rakin' leaves etc....

Depending on the weather, we're planning on joining the Michigan gang for the color ride to Traverse City next weekend. Why don't you and Kit come along? Maybe this one can become your new "last official" ride of the season.  Evil

I know the feeling. Been out at lake Iliamna all week on a project. Flew back into Anchorage at 6:30 p.m today ( sat.).
Here is a picture of the first snow up in the mountains, and a picture droping down into Anchorage.
Calling for snow showers Sunday or Monday.
All and all it's been a good summer, being able to get out for Inzane.  cooldude

This is Mt. Redoubt by the way. Our active Volcano.

Rod....Nevada is not just Vegas.  I agree there is still some good riding left but here in the North the season is getting shorter.  Been getting into the 40's at night.   Smiley

I don't put the bike away for the winter.  If the sun is out and its in the 40's during the day she gets ridden during the winter.  Just have to make the rides short so I get home before the sun peeks behind the mountains cuz that's when it gets cold.

I would not like having to park the bike for the wiinter. We visited many places in CO that I would love to live in. EXCEPT for the winters. That would be the deal breaker for me. I wish you good weather for what's left of your riding season.
