Got the bike back on Saturday. Still not done. They were installing the rear fender and scratched it. Apparently the replacement comes from Mars, via Japan after a kid in China mines the minerals for the paint. Not due here until mid August.

They got the fender in on Saturday, and it was installed in 30 minutes.

Went to the sonic meet this evening, and had a nice visit with some good guys.

Gotta tell ya Jerry, The black and Jade is my favorite color scheme (right up there with the red and white of course) But, what you have done to that bike is absolutely gorgeous.  Many times when guys mess with stuff, paint powder coating, miss matching parts the bike turns out looking like a hack, but you have done a great job!

Thank You Chris

I must admit that I can’t take but a small portion of the credit as this was a labor of love on Doug’s part (Tundra) and he made such an incredible bike that when I first put eyes on it 3-4 years ago I was frozen and when it was listed for sale it caused quite an internal struggle. Doug made me promise that I would take care of her and The CFO (Sherry)  Evil  and I    angel   feel we have. I do remember picking up the bike when we bought it and the powerful good and not so good felt by both of us. I hope the good for him was it was staying in the family.  I feel that Doug has amazing outside the box ideas and worked them into this bike. This bike started life as a black standard it is not a tourer. The paint is not stock nor the same exact jade and note that the tank is mostly black and the horns are jade. That is reversed from the other black jade tourer bikes and I have interstate saddlebags using the interstate paint scheme different from the tourer on the bags.
Thank you for the complement there has been a lot of work put into both my bikes and I can clearly admit I am addicted to these 1500s.   Looking forward to picking up one more 1500 one day for a new vision of a very 30s 40s looking bike no saddlebags or windshield bike, black and cream in color or the stock indigo and cream.  ------ one day hopefully, remember the CFO.

You're making me jealous Jeff.   Wink

I wish I could take mine up there for the line-up.

I tied to ride my Valk a few days ago.  Nothing major, just a short trip up to the corner store for some lottery tickets.  Scared the crap out of me.  There was a few minutes there that I didn't think that I was gonna make it back to the house to park it.

It's way more than past obvious that I don't belong on a bike anymore.

Glad they fixed right!  Good to meet you too, here's the guys

Thanks for posting Jeff C. I'll put a name with the pic's to help our distant Valk brothers. Let's start with the closest starting with 1) Bill, who made the INZANE trip with me. 2) Randy, 14' Valk who just moved to the area. 3) John my cousin who got me interested in Valkyrie's. 4) Jeff who wanted to start this gathering on Mondays and is a whizz about the Valk's. 5) Joe who got rid of his interstate and surprised us with his nice looking Blk/Silver Tourer and #6) me- Keith on my Sedona Red/ Pearl .... Now you know!
Be safe out there and who knows maybe a fall ride up this way Might include a Monday evening gathering of Valk's.  coolsmiley

BF - That must have been a very hard thing to write. You have, absolutely, one of the best looking Valkyries I have seen to date and it must be hard not to ride her. Keep her purring as you never know!

Sad to hear that BF. Your ride is one hell of a looker and it must break your heart to be in this situation. Hopefully some strength gets back in you and you can ride again.

It is driving me nuts that I can't attend these meetings! The next Monday I get off isn't anytime soon. It would be great to put another 2014 into the mix.

Looks like our rain nightmare is moved on westward.  Only 10% chance of rain tomorrow evening.  Should still be around 80° at 1800 but on its way down to a low of 71° so that sounds only mildly sweaty......lol

Lord willing, Ill be there at 1800 (6pm for youse civilians)  See ya there!

Well, the showing was not phenomenal (just me and Farside) However, we had a good time and the ride was fantastic.  Rain earlier cleared and left a super fresh evening with a bright moon.  Fresh paved roads, smooth bike and NO traffic........It was like flying home.  The ride home was worth the whole thing.

Six.....the reason my bike is so clean on the bottom is the two times I hurt my arm/hand and could not ride for a couple months I decided to lay on my back and with a tooth brush and my good hand spend time (lots of time) cleaning rather than sitting in my chair complaining I cant do anything.  It takes hours but it has its rewards

Jeff, was that the time you got hurt on your bicycle? I ride my pedal bike more than ever, and every time I go fast around corners downhill I think about you and your injuries. Glad you healed up well and found something useful while you were recuperating.

Yes the back injury was where I got the idea, but I couldn't lay flat for long till I was almost healed.  The two subsequent injuries to hand and arm is where I perfected the procedure....lol

Hey Nic,  Smiley yes it's a really nice ride. We are looking at leaving Thursday Oct. 27th. Riding to Natchez from Milton, FL. Natchez is the Southern starting point and it will end in Nashville. Be back in Milton on Monday. I'll post something if you think there would be some interest from your area?  coolsmiley
