Not my favorite repair work, but I'm getting better at it. Roll Eyes

I've got my NTM I/S stripped down. One of the PO's must have had a issue with the trunk wiring cause the plug is missing and the wires were butt joined with those crush connectors. Crap. Angry

I cut them out and now I want do do it up right.

Any suggestions on how to continue?

Should I get a used wiring harness and solder repair mine, or maybe buy after market connection(s)?

I'd like to also wire her for Super Valk.

Looks like I'll need the tail light and directional sub harnesses also.

Suggestions and recommendations greatly appreciated.

If anyone has OEM wiring for sale, let me know.

Thanks.

Bill, some of these connectors from here will work fine.

Do you have a tail light for it already ? If so its not necessary to have a wiring harness. you can just wire it in the right side cover wiring with some bullet connectors.

Rob, thanks for the info cooldude

That's what I was thinking of.

I have  a Standard tail light.

This is what I'm dealing with.

Pretty ugly Sad

I cut three wires to remove the trunk, I'm worried I won't have enough wire to make the connections and will have to make my own sub wire to make the length I need.

Wondering if I can rewire the trunk without complete disassembly?

I've already got parts of "Georgia" all over my basement. Smiley

I haven't dissected the "Super Valk" conversion post yet,

That will be awesome  cooldude
Wiring is not my strong suit. But compared to what your PO did I look like an electrical genius Shocked
I wouldn`t worry about being short on your wire. Just solder in a nice connector with shrink tubing over it and you can make it whatever length you want. But you are definitely on the right track getting rid of all of that. I don`t remember if you pull a trailer, but if so you might want to wire in a powered harness while your at it. Looking forward to seeing her in October. cooldude

I had bought an extra IS harness for about $25. They do come available.

Also this site too, has the replacement connectors.

Go to Partzilla.com. I replaced the harness from the side cover to the big plug at the fender split and the harness from fender split to tail light for like 20.00 plus shipping. Pretty reasonable for factory harness.

When I added a light for the inside of trunk, I changed to a standard flat trailer connector. Very easy to plug up and unplug the one connector under the seat without taking off the side cover.

That's a cool idea.  Those connections separate pretty easily.

I looked there but it seems the wiring was obsolete .  I'll look again.

Rob, no trailer.

Thanks for the reply's everyone.

About a month ago I got the rear harness (from the side cover to the back of the forward fender piece) from Partzilla.  Was pretty inexpensive as I recall. Worked out great with the Standard lighting install.  I have not tackled the SuperValk mod yet.

Where'd you find that?

Every wire harness I've found is listed as "obsolete "

Aww, there's the diff.  That's a Tourer harness.  I'm looking at the Interstate harness's, which Partzilla says, all are "obsolete"

The Tourer harness has an extra wire and a 6 place connector.  it can be adapted to work with the IS if you have the other half already.

Hey David;

Thanks for the offer.

I'm pretty sure when a part is listed obsolete, it means Honda doesn't have any more.  I'm guessing the parts sellers, on the internet and the brick & mortar stores, don't carry many parts and just get them from Honda Distribution.  Obsolete at Partzilla, than obsolete at Procalper and the local dealers.

You get those bags rails straightened out?

Bill,

Bag rails are a no go. Wife finds it more difficult to get in the passenger seat. Ill run em over to you, maybe you can use them on one of your Valks. Im still amazed at how much torwue and hp I gained from bolting up my ebay supertrapps.
