the Foxfire Fall Festival 2009.....it has been a RAINY day in Georgia....I took the Kia because the other reason I went back "Home" was because my Mother had a large cooler full of frozen vegetables to send back with me from her garden.....yummy....

I didn't have my digital camera, so I took these pics with the camera on my phone.....

Here's a shot of Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School in the distance....the clouds were below the mountain tops...

There was a pretty good turnout for the Festival even though it was pretty messy outside....here's a pic of a guy making some parts for a rocking chair....

I once did an article for the Foxfire magazine on a "Shaving Horse" like this guy is using...

This is a little cart that I may try to build myself this winter....looks interesting..

They had a big raffle and I won this Lodge Logic 13.5" cast iron frying pan....

Went back to my Mother's and loaded up the cooler and headed towards home in the pouring rain.....I actually enjoy driving/riding the Valk in the rain as long as it's not a deluge....

Stopped at a new BBQ restaurant in Clarkesville, GA.....

The inside of the place was exposed beams with a HUGE deer head hanging over the fireplace....

All the waitresses were young and cute....and wore shirts that said they had the "Best Butts in Town"....well, I didn't try their butts, but their breasts were plump and juicy....the CHICKEN breasts that is.... cooldude.....

I saw they had "home-made chili", so I ordered a side of it, along with a half chicken, 1/2 rack of ribs, french fries, and some brunswick stew....the chili was beanless and delicious....the stew was just ok...the ribs and chicken were good even without adding any sauce....

15 minutes later, it was just a pile of bones, gristle and fat.... cooldude

Well, I wasn't on the bike, but a good time was had by me, myself, and I..... cooldude.... Smiley

Food photos don't usually catch my eye...but I have to admit that those ribs and fries look pretty darn good.

What a huge deer head. It looks almost as big as an Elk.

Better watch it Bub, screw up and she could do some serious damage with that skillet.

Years ago when I rode a Harley and Goldwing my wife and I would ride down to the Dillard House for lunch. We've been a few times on the Valkyrie as well. As far as " HOG TROUGH'S " that place is hard to beat for good food and all you want of it.Cool ride report Steamer even if it was in a Kia  Cheesy

Yesterday I went with some friends to a gun show in Hickory, NC. Then to Hooters for lunch. You would have loved our waitress @ Hooters. She had some really nice......eyes.  Grin Saw several bikes loaded and heading west on I-40 in a downpour. Reminded me of going to and coming home from the CBR. Glad you had a good saturday. Look forward to seein ya at the FCR.  cooldude

The Dillard house gave me my first job back in 1985 at the tender age of 15...i kept all the flowerbeds looking good back then....my oldest Sister worked there for almost 20 years assisting the head cook and my Mother worked there preparing all the home grown vegeatbles they used.....I always got to eat free back then and have eaten there about 2-3 times in the last few years with different groups of motorcycle buddies....the food is good and plenty of it, but I don't think it's worth waiting in line for 2 hrs like I have seen ppl do...and the $$ is pretty high too.....
