I broke a bolt mounting my turn signal back on the forks. For $20 I got a replacement on eBay, and it came with three wires terminating in spades.

Can I just cut my existing wire and splice these three in, cover with electrical tape, and I'm good to go?

Are there any considerations, or best practices?

best most common long term is usually solder and heat shrink.

crimp tool and end connections.

I've seen wires wrapped around a bolt and held together with the nut, then heat shrink.

Did you buy a Valk signal? The oem front signal stay has two parts. The threaded half (No.9) costs only about $15 brand new. Plus, the left and right signal stays, complete units, are interchangeable. Just flip them horizontally. That is, you don't have to shop for a specific *right* or *left* unit if you buy them used. What bolt did you break?

If not using the connectors, then, I prefer solder and heat shrink tube.

I broke the bolt going into the thinner part of #9. When I took the assembly apart I couldn't for the life of me figure out how the light piece was connected to and through #9. I figured I could disassemble but I couldn't find any connection points for the wires until I got to the bulb. There they were soldered and I didn't want to mess with those yet.
