I made it to my destination early today ( Red Bluff , California ) and cannot load the equipment until Monday around noon ( pacific time zone ). Came into Red Bluff through the Lassen Volcanic National Park on Hwy. 36 what a beautiful area and the road was made for motorcycling .Of all the places I've seen on my ride acoss America northern California is the one I really want to return to check out on a bike. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Bluff,_California

Sounds like a good road trip you're on, even if its in a truck You're not missing much back here, its been raining since friday I rode that area a couple of years ago, you haven't seen anything yet....we got into the back roads thru northern Calif. I can't describe it, you have to see it...if you never do anything in your life, at least take 3 weeks and ride cross country...I've done it serveral times and enjoy it more each time...your eyes just can't take it all in the first time Get home safe my friend.

That road between Susanville and Red Bluff is a lot of fun, ride it often. Never ride it from dusk to dawn, the mule deer are everywhere.

Joe, Glad you made into Red Bluff. It was good talking with you Friday.
There are many roads through Northern California that will rival some of yours in the Great state of Tenn.
Have a safe trip back my friend.

Better to see it from a truck than not to see it at all When we were in San Francisco several years ago, we went down the PCH to Carmel. I've wished a hundred times we would have went north instead. I would love to ride Northern Cal, and the coast of Oregon and Washington. As Don said, you haven't missed much here. I've ridden once since I got home from CBR. That was friday and I got wet. Right after I talked to you we got back on the bikes. Made it about 3 miles and the sky opened up. We didn't even bother with rain gear. Man, that rain up on the BRP is cold. Brrrrr. See ya in a few weeks if not before.

Highbinder has the idea ... 3 weeks off and nothing but the good ol USA to ride around. Best I was ever able to do was 2 weeks and spent most of that on the super slab ... with a couple of interesting detours.

Of all the places I've seen on my ride acoss America northern California is the one I really want to return to check out on a bike.
Of all the places I've rode this is where I truly cut-my-teeth back in the early '80's on a CB 550/4 out of San Mateo. This is where I spent my early Sunday mornings. Nothing but bikes! Too much of this god country without guardrails! Inspiring! My Sunday church effort! California Highway 1 You don't get to take in the scenery when your pushing hard though. If you do you become part of the scenery. I honestly don't understand how I survived as a indestructible 20 y.o.! Many didn't/don't.

Incredible, wasn't it? I used to "borrow" my roommates Corvette and run CA 1 with it also. That was fun, but the CB was better. Would love to cut-my-teeth again, only this time with the Valk.
