Absolutely ridiculous how Florida counties handle registrations in the various offices. I've been all over this country both in & out of the service and have never had such a lousy system as we have here, to say nothing of the way it's run. Twice today I stood in line with the sign over the window saying "Tag Express" and each time I waited over 20 minutes while two customers were handled the first time, one during my second stop. That second stop was 90 minutes later and the guy they were taking care of was right behind me the first time I had stopped there. Good thing I'm not running that place, things would change overnight. OK, done venting....still PO'd, just done venting. Got it this morning. Went to the Seminole Cty. location which is about the same distance as the Orange Cty. office. Walked in, two people ahead of me, bing-bang....she hands both a slip with a number, then me and I go sit. Less than ten min. later they announce my number and also post it on a number of TV screens along with the window number I'm to report to. Five minutes later I'm walking out with a new tag. This afternoon I got one of the exhaust extensions reworked a bit, guy remembered me from a couple weeks ago. Gave one end a bit more bend, now both mufflers tuck in nice a close to the frame so it's time to paint them and clamp it together. Two more things off the "to do" list. I'd love to show up at a lunch ride this Fall astride that beastie.

They can be a real pain, the one here opens at 8 am, I get there about 7:30 and there are usually 20 people in line. When the doors open, in and out with in 20 min. Wait till 9am to go, the wait time is usually 2 hrs or longer, and stay away first few days on the month and the last few days of the month times can get to over 3 hrs to get some thing done.

John, I have to differ with you! Try getting ANYTHING in Connecticut from the DMV and you'd better be prepared to spend half the day, without exaggeration. In addition, they got new software, which has only made things worse. I am currently in CT, and just yesterday heard all kinds of horror stories.
I have never had any issues getting anything, bikes, boat, trailers, etc registered or renewed in Florida. Both DeLand, Edgewater, or New Smyrna Beach have all been exemplary. I recently picked up a new all aluminum bike trailer at 4:15 pm, got the the Tag office at 4:25, and was back out in the parking lot screwing the tag on the trailer at 4:45. They even let you make appointments to accommodate your schedule for getting your license renewed.
Sorry, but just giving credit where due. Maybe you live where they are too many other folks?

I guess what made this location even worse is due to closing three stations and combining them. The new facility is larger but not three times as large, and it's not very efficient. Oh well.....another day, another time.

In Palmgetto we simply make reservations. Walk in and out in 5-10 minutes.

If I had a cell phone that could receive texts, I'd be able to do that here. When going on line to make an appt., you have to give your cell number and they text you back with a confirmation. Then when you arrive, just take a seat and they either text or call on the loudspeaker the last four of your cell number. When I told the ass't. to the tax collector that, she was blown away and didn't believe someone could exist without a smart phone. She asked me how can anyone function without a cell phone, I told her I have a cell phone. It makes calls and takes calls, that's all I need it for....to stay in contact when needed. I don't find it necessary to carry a miniature computer. She hung up.

Jerry, I guess Orange Cty. is still running according to 1960 requirements. The frustration is on a 2016 level. I'll get the tag eventually, just hate lines of more than one person....me.
