Last Sunday I rode 60 mile to a poker run, when I pulled into the parking lot, I heard clicking noise in rear wheel. The noise was there with the bike running or not running, about one click per revolution of wheel. I suspected wheel bearing. After checking with other friends and riders, all thought either bearing or drive shaft. So I headed home to find the problem. I removed the wheel, no problem to be seen or felt in the bearings, was had plenty of grease and teeth like new, pulled the drive shaft, same a hub, looked new. Had my brother (who works on ATV's) check it all out, he could not see anything. Put bike back together, no noise. Today, rode 120 miles, no noise, then at a stop sign I heard it again, same as last week. Headed home, around 35 miles. On the way I could hear it at slow speeds same as last week. Five mile from home I stopped for fuel, no noise, continued home no noise and none when I put it on a jack and spin wheel by hand. Now some history of bike. 2000 Interstate, 70,000 mile. I replaced original left rear wheel bearing & seal at 52,000. Bearing was bad shape, loud noise at low speed before I made it home. At 64,000 mile changed left rear bearing & seal again. This time noise as I recall the same as the one I hear now. When I replaced the second bearing, it seemed to go into the wheel easier than the first. Also I have not had any vibration of any kind during any of this. No problem with rear brakes, pads good, not draging.
