Did anybody try to make there own center stand. I was looking at Rivco stands, they are nuts. By the time I get one here, it would cost me about 600 bucks. I was looking at the Gold Wing 1500 stand, there must be a way to fit it to the bike.

I don't think a wing center stand will work. I have a wing
centerstand from ebay. The frames are different, so
it's not like swapping an 1800 wing center stand over
to a 1800 Valkyrie (that works)...

I just tried to search for a home-made center stand picture
that some talented person posted here recently but couldn't find it -
a real work of art!

I can't remember who did it either. But it was top notch. It seemed like it was I the middle of a post about stands. Maybe he will see this and chime in.  cooldude

Was this the post you where thinking of? In General.

http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,87095.0.html

Cost me $611 CAD to Blaine WA, then I had to bring it across the border, and got nailed with another $75.

Let me check with a local rider who contacted me for parts, and said he didn't like his CS.

it's a good thing I almost remembered his name, I found his email address and sent him one asking.

Flash, could you find someone south of the border to receive your centerstand then install it there and ride home? Would that work?

Thanks for your help guys, what I'm going to do is wait for winter ( I know, not a nice word ) and I will make my own. I know a guy that as a steel shop so, I will spend some time there. I cant see myself spending 600+ on a stand worth about 50 bucks in steel.

I just finished my own centerstand. It` doesn`t stay mounted on the bike but is removable for servicing the rear end. Instead of bolting to the underside of the frame, I opted to pick up the swingarm pivots. I`m really going to have to try and upload some pics ! Home made and cost me about $50 in steel and a fair bit of time.

And no, I have no plans on making more! lol
