Is there anyone on the Texas Chapter board in Houston that does the desmog on Valkries ? Preferably on the west side or Katy area. I need to replace the evaporative air control valve because it is leaking, but it cost around $200.00 . I figured to just desmog it and be done with it. My question is , does it effect the performance of the bike ? I also have the 6 into 6 exhaust .

Desmog only helps performance if there's a leak that you remove.

There's a couple of shoptalk articles on how to do it, and some
desmog kits you can buy that make it even easier... redeye, I
think, sells a kit.

It is kind of scary to commit to cutting off the chrome tubes, but not hard...

2Scooters, there are articles on how to perform a desmog on the board, it is quite easy to do.  Depending on how much work you want to do none of the air tubes have to be cut but most do cut them to make life easier.  I left the front right tube and just capped it on my standard and have had no issue doing it that way.

To answer your question a desmog doesn't improve performance or gas mileage, it just gets rid of a lot of plumbing and potential vacuum leaks.  The exhaust you're running has no bearing on a desmog either.
