Hi bros!
Where can I find a detailed sketch of a standard petcock (or a picture) showing all parts and sequence of assembly?
Thanks in advance

I've seen it but it doesn't shows all parts. I've removed the plastic "dish" with a hole in the middle and the spring but here is also a second membrane, half the diameter of the one seen on the pic.
In fact, I've modified the petcock as required by the Belly Tank manufacturer (left out the mentioned two parts), somewhere in 2004 or 5, did some cleaning latter and recently installed a 28 lit fuel tank. I have had since two time a dry tank without any reserve! For this reason I assume having assembled wrongly the petcock. The drawing showing all parts should help me how the assemble it correctly.

Hope some of these help you.
I suggest you not read the article in shop talk.  There is to many
mistakes in it and it could give you the wrong idea on some of the
parts of the petcock.

Sounds like Shop Talk needs to be updated on this.

Hi Lee,
I am going inside my valve now.  Could you please post the names of the lettered items in the photos you provided?
Great views, by the way. cooldude  I just want to know what to call things if I hit a snag on the overhaul.  (I'll be working on the Manual side to repair a leak under the plate.)
TIA!

I'll try to do this one picture at a time:

A= If you read the article in shop talk it calls this a COVER. (wrong)
     Its a lot more than just a cover.  It contains a check valve and a small vent
     which makes it a SNUBBER to smooth out vacuum pulses.
B= This part is the holder for the vacuum dia. and valve seal.
     The shop talk article calls the nipple at the bottom of this part a CHECK VALVE.
     (WRONG) Its a straight through drain hole.  Any fuel that gets through the valve seal
     will run out this drain hole.  If it ain't plugged with rust or varnish from the tank.
D= Shop talk article calls this a SPACER.  (wrong) This attaches to the nipple on the
     vacuum dia. and keeps the spring centered.  Make sure the spring is in the ring when
     assembling.  A better name for this part is Spring Perch.
E= Vacuum Dia.
F= Holder- nipples on vacuum dia. and on valve seal attach to this holder.
G= Valve seal.

Parts of the shop talk article could be misleading.  Causing people to look for spacers that
aren't there and check valves in the wrong place.

I= Fuel inlet from top of stand pipe.
J= when ball is over this hole, Valve is in ON position.  ( reserve fuel inlet closed)
K= when ball is over this hole, Valve is in RESERVE position.  (both on and reserve fuel inlets are open)
L= when ball is over this hole, Valve is in OFF position.  (this is fuel outlet from manual side of valve)

G= Valve Seal (make sure there aren't any wrinkles in this seal when putting together)
P= Drain Hole  (again not a check valve as stated in shop talk article)
O= Snubber (large hold in center is where the check valve is located.  Notice the small hole
     lower right of center, its a vent which makes the whole thing a snubber.)  Should be replaced
     when rebuilding the petcock.  Thats why it comes in the cover set. cooldude
