I've had my 00 Valk for about three weeks now.   Figured Id better order the MOM and get knowledgeable about the bike.  Yes, I've done my visually checks and everything is in good order for a 16 year old motorcycle.  When I ordered the MOM, my better half asked why I did that.  I told her that of the 12 different used bikes I've had, the MOM was never there and might as well get one.

I know, some are saying why get the MOM after using this site -  But I'm kinda anal about have something written to refer to and have not ordered the service manuals yet.

The MOM came in the mail yesterday and I had a good read before dinner.  I figured Id go ahead and pull off the seat and familiarize myself with what under it and do some cleaning to get rid of old dirt.

Id read about some folks having trouble getting the latching mechanism to work right and I guess I was kinda apprehensive about pulling it off til the MOM was in my hands.    Well, needless to say, the seat popped right off.   And low and behold   SURPRISE SURPRISE SURPRISE -  both the original MOM and the original TOOL KIT were under the seat.  I had to sit down, I was totally in shock.   I feel like I sorta won the motorcycle lottery (ok - maybe a really good paying scratch off ticket).  So  I decided to hook up my battery tender cord and run some wire for my 12V adapter for my GPS .  Put everything back together and went to bed very happy

I know,  doesn't seem a big deal to most of you,  but was a surprise find for me.

Mine came with the small reference manual under the seat but I purchased a OEM service manual for real service info.

Nice. I bought the paper version, but it's always nice to have an electronic one too. Thanks!
