Started with unmolested Standard/Tourer pipes.  I never was happy with the sound, it just didn't work for me on a hot rod bike.

Replace the stock tips with 18" truck stacks, sounded nice but a little raspy.

Added Grumpy's tips, looked great but they raised the pitch and resonated.

Cut the piggies leaving 1-1/2", sounded nice but resonated like hell.

Restored the piggies but increased the diameter to 1", using copper pipe.  Deepend the pitch and cleaned up the raspiness, and no resonating.  I am extremely pleased with the results.  Smiley

Sounds good cooldude

Did you add the 1" by just going over the 1 1/2" pipe you left when you cut the piggies?

Did you sweat them on?

Thank you thank you thank you! Smiley  Although I did borrow these ideas from other threads so can't take the credit for myself.

I used a 1" x 3/4" copper reducing coupling, the 3/4" coupling is a snug fit over the piggies, then drilled and tapped for a 6-32 screw as I had in reply #10 of this thread:

No, same bike.  The last photo is after installing truck stacks, but before installing Grumpy's tips.  This setup actually sounded pretty nice with a deep growl, but was a bit raspy.
