Yes, I got a small can of Testors #1605 Transparent Red spray enamel at a local hobby shop. It's only about 3 ounces. You can often get it in the toy model section of Walmart and other similar stores. Remove your amber lenses, clean the inside good with some alcohol, just plain bathroom type, let it dry then spray the inside of the lens with 2-3 light coats of the red. Let it dry overnight, the amber lens doesn't show through. Cheaper than buying new lenses. I later replaced the bulbs with LED's for less heat.

I think I got mine a little cheaper. If you look around some you might find them cheaper. There is also some deep dish Kuryaken ones, but they run about $80.

Also there are 2 types of lenses. The ones I linked are the 1 screw types. If you have the 2 screw type you will need to look further.

Thanks for the ideas. The lenses on the Tourer and Standard are the (2) screw types.  I saw plenty of options on EBay and elsewhere for the (1) screw type, but not the (2). That is why I posted here. I can find clear and smoked lenses, but not red. In fact I have smoked lenses already with red bulbs, but I'd rather have red lenses. Ideally I'd like the Kury deep dish ones but I do not believe they are made for Valk Tourers. I think Interstates use the one screw lenses if I am not mistaken.

I think it's '97-'98 use the 2 screw . All models '99 on use the one screw.

I think Meathead is right. I've got a 01 Standard with the 1 screw lenses. I'm thinking the 99 and up Standards and Tourers all have the 1 screw setup. I put the Kuryakyn deep dish red lenses on the rear and really like the look.

Would it be simple plug and play to change out the rear signal stalks from a 99 or 00 to a 97? Direct swap?

My earlier model 99 standard used the 2 screw, same as a 07 Shadow spirit. Later model 99 and up all use single screw

I got these from Amazon for my 98 standard, might be easier to tint red.

Clear Alternatives used to make two screw red lenses for the Valkyrie (and the 1100 Shadow). I do not see that they are currently available. Part number was CTS-0021-R-R.

You can get red lenses at advance auto parts that work great. Blazer clearance lights. Remove the center of the white plastic back with a hole saw. Drill the two holes for the plate to mount to the housing and snap lens on. If you have single bottom screw just glue white backing plate in housing with jb weld or epoxy and snap lense on. I've used these lens on several bike in the last ten years. I'll fine the part number and post it shortly.

The lens are Blazer. B827R. 8.99 ea at autozone. You can beat their price on Amazon or eBay though

To close out this thread. I tried the Testors transparent candle apple red on the inside of the Amber lenses. My experience was that it just made them darker amber. @Ramie had it right. I tried the same on some clear lenses I had and the result was perfect. Thanks again for all of the suggestions.

HarryC, sorry about that. They do make them look darker amber but when the light came through it was red...at least on mine. Might have coated them too heavy.
