I've owned what I thought were fast bikes in the past from turbo 750 kawasaki to CBR 1000 but none accelerates like the Valkyrie. I don't understand why it doesn't sell. I do wish I could buy a lockable tail trunk. The honda rack is only rated for 6 pounds.

Try running ethanol free gas and 10w/30 synthetic oil...if you are not already...You'll notice how it revs even faster... gets more *hyper*   Mileage too...mine has 7500mi on it now...and it is just keeps getting faster and smoother....even the engine's tone changes slightly as the motor breaks in...  Killer motor, absolutely.

GivI on the back of mine, too. All wired up with functioning brake and turn signals. No problems so far.

Your other bikes must of been broken as they are  all faster than the Valk .
Well , maybe not the 750  .

I came from a 2010 BMW R1200R that did everything better  except    vibration   and maintenance
I do appreciate the extra 250#   sometimes

Maybe he means a 'CB 1000'...The CBR 1000 is an awfully fast bike...I've seen them stock dyno like a 130 or so ponies at the rear wheel...and weighing barley 500lbs... It should smoke a Valkyrie...

Could be he didn't ride the CB (or CBR or whatever) like he hates it, which is what you have to do to get them in their power band, unlike the Valk that wants to go go go right off idle.

Guys by faster I mean instant on torque. All the other bikes are faster once you get the rpm's up to where peak horsepower and torque are at maximum. Most inline fours need to be at 8000rpm's or more to be at the peak of their curve. The Valk is at maximum torque at 3000 rpm. Look at the 0-60 times after 60 my FJR will leave the Valk behind assuming proper gear for the FJR.

That's what I figured. The Valk seems to have even more instant down-low torque than what I remember of my VTX1800 and Thunderbird 1600.

I use the OEM rack with a 55 litre Hepco Becker top box, have filled with groceries and a 12 pack dozens of times. Still mounted and stable.
