The bridge is well over 3 miles long and has expansion joints every 150 or so feet That means over 120 hits and the bouncing after the first 20 or so expansion joints is quite unsettling to say the least. Feels like the bike wants to throw me off after less than a mile on the bridge so I have to slow down to under the speed limit.
BigBF dialed down the progressive 440 hd shocks I have had for almost 100,000 miles but it really has not had much effect
So I suppose I should look at the bushings or new shocks
What say you? I did reach out to progressive and altho I saved the box cant find the receipt from directline (should have kept it in that box) and they cant help with a duplicate receipt from 2003. They will not honor warranty without that receipt which is MIA, but they can sell me replacement bushings but would bushings really make any difference in bouncing Not looking to spend 5-600 for new shocks but what can you do? Do still have the original interstate shocks but wasnt thrilled with the ride and got the progressives,

I'd guess that your bushings would have to be real bad - as in, you could look at them and see how bad they are, to cause trouble like you're describing.
I guess you've always been going over this bridge, and the bouncing has become worse lately?

yeah started around the time of inzane as I remember asking Gman if his bike was bouncing on the bridge, it has gotten worse with every ride over the bridge (twice a week visiting mom - once each way unless traffic is bad and I detour 25 miles north to bear mtn)

I would expect that tire air pressure would have the greatest influence when discussing the "ride" over expansion joints, and the shock absorbers the least. Unsprung weight will fall somewhere in between.

Oss I would think that BigBF would have changed the bushings if they were bad. You can tell if they need replacement by looking at them, the bolt will not be centered within the bushing if they are worn.
At least you have the originals, I would put them back on, it's a simple change over. That way you can tell if your Progressives are bad.

Oss, I will test when I ride over the TZ on Friday. I have a Progressives in the front and Works shocks in the back.

I'm really happy with my 444's after I got them dialed up right. I carry a strap wrench to make it easy, though adjustments are rarely needed. Combined with the Austone at 43# the bumps positively disappear. Some of the concrete roads around here are like bridges with expansion joints - w/o good suspension you get a heave every 40 ft or so.
Not as expensive as you think, I paid $449 at Amazon. Though I did get heavier springs for about $20. They keep your receipts on file for quite some time if you need it. I keep all my receipts, scanned in one place, saved as PDF or HTM or TXT (non-proprietary formats) on my backed-up computer as hard copies disappear.

I had progressive shocks that began to leak. Gave the same symptoms. No 3 mile bridges though. I would try the stockers and see how it is.

Found my original shocks and I will try to dig out my jack friday morning put the bike in the driveway and then see what is what before the ride, Garage is too full to be able to use jack in the garage Whoever comes at 10 with the tool to adjust the original shocks, thanks in advance Worst come to worst I will just do the Friday ride on the present set up as we will NOT be riding over the TZ Bridge any of the rides and if it turns out to be the bushings I can always order then from progressive.

Your bush on progressive shocks is good. If I remember right, your progressive shock has leaking? If it is then it's probably why... I do remember that you could not find receipt, oh yeah it must be leaking.

Bill yes they were leaking and Dan (Wild6) changed my OEM onto the bike in 10 minutes after I got the bags off.
I have original box with order # and my name on label and still Progessive is no assistance whatsoever so I went with the OEM only had 5000 miles on them.
Going to scan the label and ask directline if they can make me a receipt to shove up Progressive's butt and try to get a set of 444's out of the bastards. I only bought the 13HD 440's so I could be more comfortable 2 up towing the trailer anyway
As a business owner myself my word is my bond. Hiding behind that kind of policy when the customer clearly bought the shocks new is bull

Progressive honored the warranty when one of my 440s blew after I contacted Directline and Directline sent me a new email-receipt. -Mike

keep calling progressive back, maybe you might get someone who actually cares about customer service. If leaking with or without receipt, I would think if you told them you were original owner, they would stand behind it, maybe minus shipping of course...
shocks do not go bad too often, even OEM's.
good luck.

It shouldnt really matter if original Owner or not a warranty is just that a warranty.

directline rules!
They just emailed me an invoice, which by the way included both the shocks, progressive fork springs and the rivco hidden air horns Tonite on inspection of the invoice I saw instead of the original date of sale they put 10-10-16 on that invoice so I emailed them back to please put the correct date on the invoice
The 440's have been discontinued for a good while and I dont want any crap from Progressive on the invoice
Will wait a few days and if they can do that then I shall contact Progressive again and ship them the old shocks and wait for their answer as to if they will send me a set of HD 13" 444's
What a difference from Cobra, I bought a set of used floorboards from Keith and when I asked how much to re chrome them they said no charge, they didnt care if I was the original owner or the 10th owner they re chromed them for free That is customer service
Likewise John Bushtec rebuilding my cooler frame and re running the air lines and such when I bought the longer tongue many years ago for my Bushtec Turbo + trailer
