 Mission Statement

Valkyrie Riders Cruiser Club was started because of the need to provide a place where Honda Valkyrie Riders could band together and share the combined wealth of knowledge about this great motorcycle. A simple place with no political structure and where malice toward other Motorcycle Riders will not be tolerated.  We reserve the right to pull any remarks (posts to our message boards) that we find objectionable at our own discretion.

I can take it and give it but it does get away from the intent of the forum.
I belong to three other forums (different motorcycles).  Most members are much younger than those in this forum and never is politics and religion brought up.

I really don't think we should have to rely on the administrators to coach adults. Why don't all the pundits on this forum vent their frustrations through blogs or facebooks?

Every once in awhile a post like this pops up.  Why should we have this kind of post, or why should we have that kind of post.  I think what makes this site unique is that we CAN discuss all the forbidden subjects with relatively few hassles.  This is what it comes down to, live and let live!.   If you dont want to read a religious post, then dont read it.....just hit the back button and  move on.  Same for any other subject.  I have been at odds with some posters here, and through the strife of the argument, I have learned how not to get my feathers ruffled.  I now can state my opinion and others can state theirs, and all is good.  If the other sites are so much better than here, than what are you doing here??????????  Dont get me wrong, stay, enjoy......just dont expect us to be like everyone else.

I like this site just fine. Boring is boring and over the top is over the top.

I'm a user of other sites too. It took me like 4 posts at another site for the admin to delete the whole thread without so much as an email to me. It's his site and will be run as he see's fit. I don't post there much anymore, I'm not into my ideas being so controlled.

Staff here is pretty cool and they let things run pretty far usually unless it's just outright slanderous or totally "dirty".

I like it here.

My most recent blog is on Modern Biblical Style Prophecy.

Some might call it political, but is written 'tongue in cheek'.

Enjoy

Which thread brought this up???  I was thinking it was the "Where are all the Christians At?" thread, but then I saw that asfltdncer participated in it without any complaints.  Am I overlooking the thread which prompted this smack on our hands????

Chris, very well said.  If I don't like the topic or content of a give post, I have enough sense not to hit the 'REPLY' button....I simply move on to the next topic.  I think most people follow this same philosophy.  I also think that the folks that do express their opinion on a given post, understand that there will be others that may challenge that opinion.  I think most people will agree this is good as long as it doesn't become obscene or threatening.

Most members to this forum are NOT older, not necessarily more experienced ,Probably would not claim to be wiser, than on Any other forum. HOWEVER.... I find that this group is MATURE (regardless of age ect... ) enough  to sort through the posts and decide which to disregard or reply to and I find that the admin. here do an  AWESOME job of deciding where that fine line may lie and seem to do so based on the maturity and acceptance of the group. Dont ask me how administration manages, just know I think it is a fine Job and I would not pretend that I could do better.  We are ALL adults here and I think we can handle it.If some one can not,,.....well ...uhhh...who am i to say?

I want to thank all the worker bees behind the scenes. One of the posts I really liked was what do you do for a living we have such a talented and creative group of people on this board. I am sure that on other boards this more than likely wouldn't have been allowed. Look I really like my Valk but honestly you can run out of things to say about your bike so its nice to have the diversity to read.

I don't hang out on blogs or facebooks... my main Internet haunts are here and a comic strip
related usenet newsgroup. Here we have "the sandbox" and "the tech board"...  I like the
"anything goes" flavor of the sandbox. They really don't talk about much other than Valkyries
over on the tech board. Some people only participate there...

Asfltdncr,
I interpreted the phrase "with no political structure" to mean the way the club was set up and functions as a club, not that members never discuss politics.

I think the moderators of this board do a great job of taking care of the malice.  Although, I hope that is minimal.

To use you own words, why don't the pundits vent their frustrations some other place.  So all of you that are critics of this board, go vent some place else.  For the rest of us,  the water's fine!

Me too.  I love my Valk, but honestly, it's a fairly small part of my life.

I like the debates... till they get to name calling.  At that point, I quit following them.

I've found that on this board we can always learn something because subjects are always diversified.
We are all adults and if we don't like the post, we just move on.

I, too, am on other boards.  Most resemble tech boards (nothing wrong with that) but this board is always interesting in regards to personal opinion and experience.  Yeah, occasionally we get some "internet commando" who gets carried away but that can be taken care of by ignoring or sometimes, by the adm.

I like this board just the way it is. cooldude

Just imagine, not being able to vent about a subject with family (VRCC) and friends...

I think we all try to push limits, speed, posts...bikes...and we all know...everyone is slightly different but we are all the same...we all Love Valks!!!

I like this site, I have had one or two intense conversations here and kind of enjoyed them. I learned several years ago not to take myself and my ideas to seriously. They are my ideas and I realize there will always be people who think I am full of sh_t just a I think they are.

The people who run the site seem to have a good grasp on when to shut down a thread and when to let it go. (of course that is just my opinion)

Great site lots of good info and ideas.
