Every Saturday morning myself and a mate meet up at about 4:30am or so and then go for breakfast for a couple of hours and then for a ride, regardless of weather. We advertise it on a ride site and every now and then we get a few people crazy enough to turn up at those times. I have done so for years ever since I got divorced and whenever I have done one I really like I do a video of it to remember it by.

This one was nothing special as far as the ride goes. Only 450k's and we even got home before dark but I did have a second camera to play with so I decided to make something with the footage. I find I enjoy making these not as much as riding but enjoy it non the less and as far as capturing memories go they take a dump on a few photos, at least for me.

The second camera makes things a lot more interesting but the mount needs a little work. I am still looking for an effective way to record sound without the wind noise. Sooner or later I will work something out but for the time being it is masked within reason with music I select that reminds me of the feeling of the ride. That is a personal thing and is very subjective but as I said these things are made mostly for me however I do get a kick out of it if it brings enjoyment to someone else.

Anyway this is last Saturdays trip..

This little out take is from the above footage and motivated me to do the main video. I was experimenting with the camera and the mount and saw this. It may be a case of "you have to know him to get it" but I crack up every time I see this.

Great vids, try mounting a camera behind a wind screen and stick a piece of foam on the mic hole, When I get a call on my bike through my Sena bluetooth people cannot believe I am going 70 mph on my M/C, they say it sounds like I'm at my kitchen table. My windsock mic is behind my helmet face shield.

Thanks AdrianR, to be exact it was taken along this route in the states of Queensland and New South Wales in Australia...

hungryeye. Thanks for the tips but not where I want the camera. I do agree with the foam idea (I also have senas), just can't be implemented in my case even tho I have tried. The Sony HDR AS100's have a stereo mic just below the lens so literally trying anything there gets it into the shot.

External mics for them would work but they are a bit of a crap design for that. In their protective case the mic' port cannot be reached, outside of their case with a mount attached the mic' port can't be accessed either even tho it is still weather proof because the camera mount goes over the port.

Using a skeleton case you can reach the port but it is no longer weather proof with the door open (I thought about about a sealant here) and you can't use the lens protector (Thought about a dremil here to make it fit). Even if I did all that I would lose the bottom mount and not be able to rotate it while I was riding and this I have discovered is something I don't want to do.

I have also tried a cheap voice recorder with a plan to sinc' the sound later however the external mic' was overpowered even at idle. I tried with no external mic' in the back pocket but that didn't work either.

All in all a very bad design if a external mic' is a priority tho sooner or later I will work something out. Apart from that I have found them to be very good cameras for what I want. I didn't think any of the bike mounted cam' footage would have been usable because of all the flopping around it was doing but the stabilization did an amazing job.
