Does anyone know if the plastic cover on the I/S headlight assembly can be removed and replaced?

I need a new headlight because some brilliant PO decided to JB weld the bulbs in, instead of reusing the bulb springs. tickedoff tickedoff tickedoff Angry Angry

I tried to buy a new one, but after waiting a month from Procaliber.com w/o the part or an answer if I'll get it, I contacted Partzilla.com and was told it was obsolete.  I wasn't listed as not available.

So I have to buy a used one.  There are several on Ebay, running from $70 to about $200.

The $70 one has a beat up cover and I have a good one, so I was wondering if anyone else has been there, done that.

Seems to me there was a recent post from a fellow that redid the inside mirror surfaces. You can search and find that post and contact the guy about how he disassembled the headlight assembly.

Thanks Ricky-D. cooldude  I found that post after you suggested I do the search.  Unfortunately, Memor86 didn't get into how he took it apart, except to state he removed the plastic.

I sent him a PM asking how, but he hasn't returned an answer yet.
