really the power/HP vs. available torque throughout most of the engine's RPM range.  My last 1100 Sabre was a decently fast bike...but a few cars...could keep up with me down and low and were faster.

With this bike...to like 80mph you can smoke just about anything on the road...especially *reasonable* 4 wheeled  vehicles.  It also launches better then many sport bikes...especially by those whom don't know how to get them up on the pipe...of course once they get going your toast...

Not that I want to race everyone..but man...it is great to just twist and pass...cool...  Learning how to get the most out of the gearing and power band is essential...of course, and as I had previously mentioned a billion times...ethanol free gas...etc..

The engine and the handling for its bulk is what I like most. Once I got used to this engine I road a V Twin and my first thought was "whats broken?".

LOL...exactly.  I test road a Yamie Raider...brand new...it felt like a slow, rattling piece of junk after getting off my hot rod Swiss Watch!  I love the sound of the drive train...and exhaust note...

I do have to agree with you for my bike without the custom paint.

I will openly admit that this bike has slowed me down.  Strange, I know, but unlike my old Vulcan it feels stable, tractable and reactive at almost any speed you wish to travel, slow or fast.  It's entirely up to the operator to choose how to ride the bike and the bike responds no matter what; with the Vulcan I was always trying to stay on pipe and if it fell out of its zone, going up a hill or wanting to do a quick pass, the engine would leave you feeling like it wasn't there for you.  So you were constantly keeping an eye on that tach, constantly shifting and constantly keeping a careful eye on what situation you were putting you and the bike into to make sure you could get out of it if you had to ("aggressively defensive riding" is what I call it).

The Valkyrie's engine just doesn't care.  Puttering along one moment but need to pass the next??  Who cares, twist the throttle and it's done!

And that carefree competence has made me mellow out, not worrying about exactitude.  Putt-putt-putt-enjoy the scenery-blow away some loser who's tailgating-putt-putt-putt  Grin

I have never seen scenery like I have on my Valk.

Ever tried to see how far you can get without taking in out of 5th? Pretty much anywhere. My mate laughed and said I couldn't take off on a hill in top. Well, it wasn't fast but there was no shudder and it shut him up Cheesy

And I must assume that you use corn free fuel..cuz if you 'ain't', you haven't felt it's pure stock potential..way faster/quicker...

I use a very high octane fuel with an additive  that's supposed to give her 30hp more

Well that's a waste of money. Any idiot knows you can get the same or better results with properly placed racing stripes. And flames -- better than nitrous!
