Today I threw Honda some money, I went to the Honda Power Sports site and purchased the chrome side covers and the chrome swingarm pivot covers for my Black Valk. I bought the bike new when they first came out but I delayed buying goodies to see if any of the big bike accessory outfits like Kuryakyn, Barron, ect. would make some items for the beast.  As you all know, accessories for our Valks are hard to find. So out of desperation, I paid Honda's big prices for a couple of covers to make the bike "my own". Over the years, I have found that adding accessories to your ride is almost as exciting as the ride itself. I wish there were more choices- Christmas is coming! Oh well I guess it does not matter too much, our riding days up here are numbered.

I have been kicking around the idea of reviving some of the accessories that used to be available for the 1500 Valkyrie but for the 1800's since there is nothing out there.

Kinda like this insert for the backrest

ROBERT- I saw how nice the covers looked on your bike from you previous posts, so I thought I would give it a shot. Thanks!  I can see from your picture that the side covers have "Valkyrie" on them in gold. The gold looks nice with your bikes color. Over the winter, if the Valkyrie emblem is removable, I may try painting it Black to match the color of my bike. I am not sure yet.

Just an idea, with my 01 Valk I used to take a black permanent magic marker and make the chrome letters on the tank black. It looked good and you couldn't tell that it was marker. It would wear off so instead of redoing it that took all of 5 minutes I got some touch up paint and just did it with that. If you just do the face of the letters in the color you want it looks like you have highlighted letters. Since either the chrome or gold in this case would make the letters stand out better.
