My Valk died just as we were starting the ride before the Prescott picnic. Turns out the alternator is not putting out 12V hence the battery drained. I looked at Drill Sgt. Joe's Tech Tips under alternator and I do not feel capable of this task. I have the alternator out and could ship it to anyone who has done this procedure before. It seems there are a  few other things that should be checked besides the brushes. Is there anyone who could help me with this? I could package and ship it to you. Alternatively, a cheap replacement would work.  Call Bruce at 509 8993170. PS 1997 Standard

Big BF is out of town on an extended Road Trip. He has given no date for his return. My advice, buy a New alternator since you have already done the hard work..  Here is one on Amazon.

It's basically an automotive alternator. Maybe there's a shop in Prescott that can put in the brushes for you. Your bike doesn't have that many miles so I think that's all it would need. The new one is a good option as well.
