I have a Honda CRV, 1999, 4x4 with pretty close to 200,000 miles on it. It's been an awesome car and never left me stranded. I have replaced a few parts over the years but, she has always gotten me home. I hope my old 1999 Honda Valkyrie IS will be the same. I had a HD Electraglide that left me stranded a couple of times. Sucks.

I ride a 94 Goldwing . (GL1500) it's got a bit over 206K miles and runs fine . I have changed the belts , head stock bearings rear shocks , tires and brakes . I only wish I could say I put all the miles on it. I purchased this bike with 160 something . Its my daily ride .
Give your Valk normal care and ride a lifetime .

Hmm, so you think Honda's are well built reliable vehicles that seem to run forever with normal maintenance intervals ? You would be right. I learned this from a friend who is a lifelong mechanic, he set me straight. I think you have to pay it forward sometimes, sometimes not. My first Honda purchase was in 2008 and it was a 95 civic with 195k miles for 600 bucs, no exhaust to speak of and it passed a Ct. emissions, it lasted the abuse of a 16 year old girl learning to drive stick, her brother after that, at 220k miles i had to replace the dang thermostat..pos. last i heard at 275k miles she was still ticking. I bought my Ridgeline in 2009 with 20k miles. now at 125k it still has original brakes and rotors and still smooth, i have replaced a few light bulbs over the years and did the timing belt/ water pump earlier this year at 115k and it cost me about a grand. The Michelin LTX tires have 95k, they will be replaced soon. My Mom's 99 CRV was passed down to my sister and further down to my niece and has well over 200k and is still going. The Valkyrie is well known for its longevity and we are here to prove it ! Good choice I say.

We're on our 4th CRV and 2nd I/S. Never done anything but oil changes, tires, brake pads, other routine maintenance. We've never been stranded and resale is great. No complaints here!

My first Honda was a 1982 Civic then a 1981 Accord. At one point I had 2 Honda Cars,3 Honda motorcycles,2 Honda Lawn mowers,a Garden Tiller and a Pressure Washer and ALL were the most reliable Engines that have ever been produced. The only Problem I ever had was with the 81 accord broke a Damn timing belt but I replaced a few valves and drove it for 3 more years and sold it to a freind who wrecked it

Not to be a hater here since I still like the Honda brand, I have owned 4 Honda motorcycles and 3 Honda vehicles, a 2003 Honda Odyssey a 2001 Honda Civic and a 2002 Honda Civic. They were all great cars but it is well known that Honda had transmission problems for a period of 4-6 years in the early 2000's. I had to have transmission work done in two out of three, other than that just the regular maintenance required.
Just like anything, it is good to do a little homework and do a check of reviews etc.

1st Honda auto was a 1988 Accord purchased in 1998 w/100+k on the clock. Drove it for 6yrs w/zero problems and loved the 4cyl motor in that thing. Cant remember mileage when we sold it. Bought a new '05 Odyssey which my wife still loves and drives today. Trouble free except for power steering recall. We also have an '00 and '05 CRV's. Absolutely love the CRV! I bought both used and drove both 'til the kids started driving. Normal wear and tear, the 2000 axle froze up. Common problem come to find out. Timing belt on 2000 done. Both have around 130k on them. Confident and secure with kids driving them anywhere. I'm on my 2nd Honda mower since 1992. Hard for us to buy anything else. We have been fortunate with the Honda's we have purchased. I do my homework before buying anything. I like my chances with Honda. '73 450 Scrambler '82 CB900F '86 VFR1000R Interceptor - Big mistake letting that one go '97 Valkyrie Standard

I agree about Honda and Toyota both. Someone can always get a lemon no doubt though which puts a bad taste in ones mouth to ever trust that mfg. ever again. Since 2011 have had Hyundai vehicles and so far so good. Much before 2011 and would not trust Hyundai/Kia very much.
My neighbor had an old somewhat rusted 1990's Honda Civic 4 door sedan with clutch pushing 200K and sold it for 500 bucks clutch was in need of repair finally among other things. Last I knew the darn thing was still running to someone who bought it and fixed it up (clutch/etc.) who lives outside of town and this has been over 5 years ago. Ugly as all sin, but keep on running.
There is a reason on why since I think 1988 there has ONLY been 2 Goldwing changes (not including our Valks) a 1520cc carb and 1832cc fuel injected 6 cylinder - they just keep running forever with mostly basic maintenance. Am sure there are a few with 500,000 miles and over, but not so sure about 1 million miles on it?

In my life, I have personally owned the following: - 1986 Civic hatchback- purchased for $50, drove it for 3 months, with blown head gasket
- 87 Civic hatch
- 88 Civic hatch
- 89 Civic hatch
- 1980 Accord four door sedan
- 1985 Civic sedan
- 1989 Accord sedan
- 2001 Accord sedan, sold it with over 400,000 miles on the engine, and still see it driving around town
Every one of these vehicles (and other Hondas I cannot remember) had over 200,00 miles on the odometer. The worst of them never left me stranded, and all were far better than any other car brand. In addition, I have owned Ford, Toyota, Nissan, GM, and VW cars... not counting trucks. There has been a total of 18 +/- cars since I started driving. I have owned Honda, Suzuki, Harley, Yamaha and Kawasaki bikes (total of 22 on and off road bikes). Honda is the most reliable, holds value the best, and ride the best. So far, my valk has needed some work to bring it up to my standards, but has never failed me. I don't expect it to.
