I’m looking at buying an enclosed trailer for my cycle. I want to know what size I should get to put two Valkyrie Interstates or one Valk and a Gold wing in it.
Thanks for any suggestions.
Al.

Thanks RJ, I like those trailers but I want to put my cycle in one!! I’m planning on trailering it south this winter so I can go riding. I want it big enough so I can put two interstates in it.

Are you looking for a "Toy Hauler"? That is an enclosed trailer that also doubles a a travel trailer. After quite a bit of research, it would be hard to find a better trailer to haul large, heavy. and wide motorcycles than a 8 1/2" wide, dual axel unit.
It all depends on what you want, what you will tow with, and what you can afford. Last week I did a search and found a new 2009 Roadmaster R-Sport 17" Toy Hauler in N.Carolina for $12,500. That is some trailer for the money,...as you can live out of it (kitchen, bath with shower and chemical head, air conditioning, propane heat, cable TV hook-up, sleeps four).
I'd like one like that for myself.

Lord NO!! Way too much money!! I want to know what size trailer I should get…. Found this one on Craig’s list and I was wondering if it would work for two good size cycles. http://eauclaire.craigslist.org/for/1395530290.htmli'm thinking that i would have to back one in, and drive the other in forwards so the engines don't hit.

I have a 6x12 enclosed... I barely fit a 750 ACE and a 650 VStar in it without creative loading. Neither had hard bags either. Even with a specific "plan" for loading Valks in, you would have to be a contortionist to strap them down, once you got them in. Now, I am putting my Interstate in there by itself; even that takes up much room. I am not saying it isn't possible (maybe), but two I/S or Goldwing, etc. but I wouldn't do it. If I had to do it over again I would have bought an 8' wide one. If I lived anywhere near Phoenix, I would seriously consider the one linked above on Craigslist... that is a $5000+ MC specific enclosed for $2250... good deal (sight unseen of course). You may want to try this... mark out (chalk, whatever), a 6x12 area on your garage floor or driveway. See if they will fit decently in that area... remember you will have walls, so handlebars etc, has to fit within your imaginary 6x12 area.

I was just in Phoenix last week!! Had I know that trailer was available I would have bought it!! I’ll probably be going there again next month but that good of a deal wont last!
Thanks for the info PTGB. I even wonder if that 7x12 trailer on Craig’s list is big enough for two Valks? I know my interstate is at least 3’ at the widest.

While your deciding you can park the two bikes as close together as possible in a garage. Against a wall would be good practice. Measure your package . That would be a good way to practice your loading method marking the floor with tape or crayon.

Get the widest trailer they make. I made the mistake of buying a nice used 14 foot v-nose, 7 1/2 feet wide, to haul one valk tourer and one goldwing. They will not both fit in the trailer no matter how you try to load them. An 8 foot wide may work, but go 8 1/2 if you can. Trailers look very spacious until you pull the old Valk in there! That space really fills up fast plus you have to have room to spread out your straps so the bike(s) are really secure.
I looked at a used 8 1/2 foot wide Haulmark before I bought mine................the man that owned it said he hauled two Harley dressers in it but had to back one in and stagger them to get them to fit. Good luck.
