Has anyone had the inner trunk apart from the outer body?

I'm continuing to deal with the PO's ideas that OEM parts are not needed.

The spring nut's that connect with the self tapping screws that hold the trunk wall are missing and it sounds like they may be in between the trunk pieces.

Looks like I need to remove the tail lights, but what else?

Thanks ahead!

Underneath the gasket are screws that hold the inner trunk into place.  Hope that helps.

There should be instructions in the Service Manual, to get to the latch mechanism. I know I've read it before. Shows how to remove the inner lining.

Yes, they do.  Nice Ace hardware store.  I know cause I had to replace the bolts the idiot used to hold the fender/grab bar together.

They were so long, they scraped the tire when my brother gave his wife a ride.

Coulda been bad, but he caught it in time from the burning rubber smell. Shocked Shocked

There are screws on the bottom of the trunk and also screws under the rubber gasket that seals the lid.  There are rubber grommets (5 I believe) on the bottom of the trunk that need to be removed also which means that the trunk needs to be removed to take it apart.  The screws for the lid and the restraining wires are pretty self explanatory and need to be removed also.  You should then be able to remove the inner shell a nd do any work you want.  The tail lights do have to be removed also.
