I  searched previous posts, but I could not find any good info on what you guys have found regarding  a  good jack/lift that works well with the Valkyrie.  Today I  got down and took a close look at the underside of the frame. The bottom of the engine does hang slightly lower than the frame. SO,  a flat "table like" jack would not work because the bottom of the engine is ROUND and the bike would rock back and forth. So, you would need a jack that just makes contact with the frame. HOWEVER,  our frame is only about (5") off the ground, and just about every jack I found on line are over (5") high and would not fit under the bike. Has anyone found a jack that will work on our Bikes?

I used something like this for the 1500... folds flat to only about 3 inches high.  Good for 1500 pounds, so it'll lift the Valk without a problem.

It may need a block/bracket to work with the rounded engine bottom (I haven't looked at that part yet).  I do suggest straps from the crash bars to the lift to make sure you don't push the bike over.

I have a Craftsman lift.  You can make an adapter or get buy one.
Buying one that stays on the bike has worked great for me.   I don't have to get on my hands and knees to jack it up.

Saddlesore- First of all, thanks for responding to my post. The adapter you listed is advertised lifting an older Valkyrie. I have a 2014 Valk., are the frames the same, will this adapter work on a new Valkyrie??

I can't attest to whether the adapter will fit a 2014 Valkyrie.  There might be someone on the 1800 board that would have the answer.
Good luck Smiley

OOPS, I just realized you were on the 1800 board

Here's how I did it.

http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,83406.msg820442.html#msg820442

Some people put a belly pan on their bikes and use that as the adapter... belly pans
are attached to the bike via the plastic cowling, I didn't want to do it that way...

I made a wood adapter for the engine. I have a belly pan and must remove it to use the adapter. The idea is to connect the motor to the center stand connection points for a motorcycle jack to use.

I have a pitbull lift and love it. I had a Craftsman style and and he the bike up on it and my buddy came over and saw it up in the air and said "That'll leave a mark if it falls on ya"
It is a little pricey, but awesome. I am on my 2nd one, my father in law adopted my first one

I jack mine up (2014 1800 Valk) with an ATV lift like in the picture CajunRider posted. It got a bit wobbly lifting it but a few boards in the right places sorted that. Adding a belly pan sorts all those problems and no need for boards any more. yes that flimsy bit of metal does more then stop you getting a hole in the oil filter or the water bottle.

Once it is up tho I lower it down onto car stands and remove the jack. Rock solid then, I can even sit on it.

Shrubbo- I guess a belly pan is the way to go. The belly pan would provide a level surface for the jack/lift to make contact with. I still find it unbelievable  that Honda would use such a flimsy  plastic  overflow tank for coolant  and place it where it could be hit by road debris.  Thanks for the input!

Just so you all know, to the best of my knowledge there is NOT a Belly Pan made that would offer enough support to withstand the weight of the Valkyrie without bending ect.

Most of the pans are only 1/16th inch Stainless, Aluminum or possibly 1/8" Diamond Plate.

I would a 100% agree with you except for the fact I do it at least once a week. When I pulled it out of the box I thought I would have to pull the thing off every time I wanted to jack the bike, it was flimsy to say the least.

Fortunately/unfortunately I am inherently lazy and couldn't be bothered taking it off so I jacked it up with the pan on anyway. I thought I would have crushed it up a bit but it was fine. I gather it is being braced from behind by the pipes and that center ridge. I also spread the load on the jack with a piece of MDF and as I posted above I do all work/washing with the car stands in place, not the jack. 350KG+ balancing on a foot wide jack doesn't fill me with confidence at any rate.

I used to have to put that piece of MDF on and then I had boards in strategic areas to jack it up. It was a pain in the butt and if I didn't have the boards in the right place it would not be too stable. Also I couldn't have the jack back under the water bottle as it would squash it when lifting. I can't be bothered emptying the saddle bags either so it tended to lean back. So lazy haha.

I still use the MDF and can have the rear part of that MDF under the bottle and on inspection it doesn't seem to be squashing anything up. Also the lift is now reasonably level, very stable and I have no issues putting the car stands under now. A few times in the past before the belly pan I have done a few very iffy lifts. All good now, no issues now turning my back on it while grabbing car stands or whatever.

Anyway here is some shots I just took.

This has been up many many times and it looks pretty straight.

A little bit of distortion here but it has hit the road so it is possible that may be the cause. I would not be shocked if it was from the lifting though.

My little piece of MDF that fits perfectly.

Either that or I have squashed the crap out of everything, sounds like my M.O. Smiley

The belly pan could be made out of inch thick titanium. What
matters is that the belly pan attaches to a plastic shroud.

Y'all can lift your bikes on whatever you want, we're all
