Seeing you are one of the masters of dissecting the exhaust I have a question.  I would like to extend the six pipes (piggies) (yes the four fake ones as well for looks) and add different exhaust slash chrome exhaust tips that extend past my saddlebags.   Thoughts??

To be honest, it is going to be difficult using the stock exhaust as it is right now. Everything is super welded and I don't see how you'll extend the chrome tip out without another chrome cover.

The pipes themselves can easily be welded on once the chrome tip is removed and a support can be added for extra weight. The dissection process was put on back burner for the SoCal lights project and I haven't finished taking them apart all the way.

More to come if I get any ideas.

Yes, a new 18" chrome slash tip is what I want to install and the piggy's to extend a tad past the new longer length, hoping for elimination of the drone we notice at 62-70is MPH

Jerry,

On my old Interstate I took off the original chrome covers and put on some 4" chrome truck stacks.  They slid right on with a little soap and persuasion.  Maybe that may work for you as well.  You could get them in a variety styles including a slash cut.
If you do a search on the general forum you should be able to find the company that sell them.

Now that is a good idea! I bet I could easily cut the end of the triple tubes chamber, extend the pipe, and then re-weld everything. Would take some trial and error, but that would certainly push the pipes out and use the stock ends.

How about instead of slash or turnouts do straight cuts with rain caps, you don't see them as much anymore on big trucks. Every bike has either slash cuts or turnouts. At idle they will flap fore and aft and make a clanging sound until you take off they will open up full. Then when parked at that lowlife bar you go to rats and mice can't get in the exhaust... coolsmiley
