Here's a question for those in the know.
If I bought a Gold Wing could I take the trunk off and replace it with a nice rack & passenger backrest ?
If I then put a shorter windshield on it would I have an F6B with larger saddlebags and more gadgets ?
Are the regular GW bags larger than those smallish F6B bags ?
Are there nice racks & backrests available for the conversion ?
Is the GW tank larger ?  Better or more lights ?

                thanks,

I think the bags are the same size.  The lower fairing is slightly different but the windshields are interchangeable.

It took Honda to totally strip down a Goldwing, and it took Honda
to make the F6B... the kit bike, which was available before the F6B,
seems pretty cool, but the "trash can lid" they replaced the trunk
with isn't as slick as how Honda manufactured the F6B...

As I understand it, you can purchase the F6B components needed from Honda (may be pricey) and bolt them onto the Goldwing once you have the trunk and such removed.

I seem to remember seeing a picture where someone did just that... I can't seem to find it right now though.

I thought the bags would be bigger on the GW.
Is the gas tank bigger on the wing ?
I think the bags are pretty small on the F6B is why I ask.
I know that the Corbin ones are very small. Maybe the Tsukayu bags could be fitted to a F6c ?
I wish there was more stuff available for the F6C.  Undecided

Yeabut, There are brand new 2013 F6B's around for $13,000, 2015's for $15,000. You can find an 05ish wing with 70k miles for say $10,000. A newer wing with 10-20k miles would be 14-15k, By the time your done you're better off with a new left over F6B...yes, no, maybe?

Yeah, it was from MBL Innovations and called the Goldwing Sport Kit, but it seems to have been removed from their web site and therefore no longer available  Undecided

I guess the best thing from here is to order OEM Honda F6B parts to do the conversion.

You may be right due to the excellent resale value of the Gold Wing I guess an F6b with a rack might do the job.
I wonder if there's a solid, big rack available for it.
A different windshield that works well and that I can look over the top of and a good size solid rack might make it into a sweet tourer.
Probably for less $$$ than trying to mod an F6C.
