I changed my front brake pads today with Lucas MCB 850 SV (the reference in Europe, I'm not sure you have the same ref. in the new world). Motorrad, the german bike magazine says the Lucas and the Brembos are the best pads you can get (for the BMWs  2funny) and that's why I've been buying the Lucas for years (cheaper than the Brembos for equal efficiency). More power, less effort on the lever, full stop is more sharp imho. I'll see if the ABS wakes up  Wink

I just checked the Brembo website and it seems our bikes are not listed so I am not sure if they make Brembo pads for our bikes. I was about to ask

why you didn't go for like the EBC sintered pads but the pads you bought are sintered. Its seems that is what this bike takes. The OEM pads dont

look sintered but the backing plate is copper that usually only comes with the sintered pads. I suppose you get carbon/kevlar also. I looked to see if

they had the Lucas pads here and that seems to be a Europe thing. I still remember Lucas lord of darkness when I hear that name.

Yes Robert, I know it's a mess to find out which pads fit the Valk 2014. There are different models of pads for the GW and ours look like this :

The Lucas pads MCB 850 SV look like this (mm of course) :

Robert, imho there is a real difference between the EBC and the Lucas.

Your Lucas pads are really manufactured byTRW and  I looked for those pads and it must be a Europe thing,  because they weren't listed in the US at all. I took a look at the Brembo pads and I wouldn't buy them since they are semi metallic and not sintered or even carbon/Kevlar, which is the only other pads that really stop. Let us know how you like the pads, I am curious. A company called Volar also makes brake pads for our bikes.

I usually buy the pads on eBay.de because it's cheaper and I like the way the Germans trade (small shops, you can order 7/7, fast delivery). I bought my pads by Kettenmax, in Berlin (info@kettenmax.de) for 46.82 € + 9.90 € EU postage.

There are TRW Lucas carbon pads but I understand they are fit for the race track and they would destroy the brake disks rapidly  Embarrassed

btw, I love Berlin as you know it.  Sad
