That's way out in left field. He's applying old automotive carburetor practice to the Valkyrie carburetors in contravention of the good practices of the Honda Valkyrie Repair Manual. Not only that, but his assumptions are all wrong because the premise he employs is defective.

Because of all this, the suggestions he makes are ill conceived, but sound credible enough to many of the Valkyrie riders to where they profess the merits of his mistaken ideas. You can find those postings throughout many threads dealing with all subjects related to carburetion, rebuilding carburetors, hydrolock and many other carburetor topics.

I think I left a comment on that video the first time I saw it. If the floats are not doing their job why not just replace them. I am not a fan of carb mods like this. Jetting ... fine, but backyard rigging is not a good idea.

Harry, I agree adding the springs is not optimum. But it was determined back when MoodyValk was doing this that the problem was the springs in the float needles were wearing out. BonS did some thorough investigating on this and found new float needles cured the issue. But new floats in addition sure couldn't hurt.

Makes sense to me. I was wondering how floats could warp.
