I got waterproof motion activated LED lights for Christmas. Can't really see the rear wheel due to the bags and pipes. https://youtu.be/GiqWxPXsO8k

Why? They don't resemble any kind of law enforcement light at all. They aren't forward facing..

If they flash blue in any direction, they will get attention (at night). (like in the video)
At least they would in my state/county.

Good to know. Construction vehicles have emergency lights just like cops. i figure im nowhere close to that.

Those are always yellow. It's blue and red the coppers feel belong to them, exclusively. I suppose enforcement would vary widely geographically, but in my suburban hell, I'd expect to be stopped for certain riding at night with blues or reds. One of my bikes came with Kuryakyn Rainbow Strobes which surround the dual interstate bulbs (they do not strobe/flash, just project colors). They didn't change the color of the white light projected out front, but looking into the headlights, you could clearly see bright reds and blues (and other colors) glowing in there (much more than in the picture below). Of course, those lights are always on, so I pulled those out and gifted them to someone on here a few years back.

I'm good then. They don't shine from the front. That said, all the construction vehicles I've seen don't follow that statute.

Selective policing or slow nights could be a factor, but I also suspect your lights won't be blinding half a block like true police vehicles do. Shouldn't be a problem but you never know how far the issue can get pushed on a bad day. I'm good then. They don't shine from the front. That said, all the construction vehicles I've seen don't follow that statute.

I doubt these put out enough light where anyone would bother. Shoot, the necks are running full LED light bars on their pickum up twucks and no one bothers.

I have heard of valve stem caps with motion active LED's, is that what you have, where can I get a set, I like em MV laws can be very stupid at times. In Jersey I had to buy a permit to put emergency strobes on my 18-22 wheel trucks, I'm sure someone would mistake my Kenworth with a 12' wide dozer on the trailer for a traffic cops car....

Inow that you say it, I would immediately pull over for a high speed pursuit bulldozer. The pit manuever would be catastrophic!

Those valve stem lights are pretty long and not made for motorcycles. I would be afraid of them damaging your valve stem and giving you a flat tire. Our wheels turn a lot faster that a bicycle tire and the force put on them and your tire valve would be extreme.
Personally, I would not put those on.

Then there's the balance issue.

They are not beefy, so if anything breaks, i expect these to. If i get a flat, I've got roadside assistance, and it's not a big deal to replace a valve stem. if i run into problems, I'll let ya know.

On fleebay there were long and short ones, labeled for motorcycles, cars and bicycles. I been using tire pressure monitor for years on several different bikes. The senders are valve stem caps with a battery the size of a dime, never a problem. If you were worried about balance you can have your tires/wheels balanced with the stem caps on. I doubt I will ever buy them, I rarely go out after dark anyway.

Jut in case anyone was wondering, i hit the highway today for a little jaunt. The lights never had a problem, no flat from damaged valve stems.

I hope that you don't have any problems. Let us know a long term trial of them, maybe six months down the road. If they hold up and don't cause any issues then I would be interested in them.

Took the bike to get dinner. Passed a few county cops. They didn't brake or change direction, and the one sitting on the side of the road didn't move. So either there's no problem, or they could have been otherwise distracted (texting or something).
I'll share long term results in a few months.

Price range on these things on ebay are $2 - $6 per pair with free shipping. So we better wait for the 6 month durability report.

So I've had these on for a month now. Been on a few rides, and today went on a 200 mile ride. No issues with them, no issues with law enforcement at night. Not had to add air at all, and they haven't broken off like I thought they might. I was at 100mph today, and they were fine.
All in all, I think they are a good product if you're looking for bling on your wheels.

Took a lengthy ride from Pensacola to Mt. Dora this weekend to support my kid in Civil Air Patrol. Total distance driven in the last three days 939 miles. On the way there, I noticed I broke one of the lights. I figured it happened when I went over one of the bridges that doesn't have a very smooth pavement to cement connection, and the light hit the spoke of the wheel. No problems with the valve stem, as I haven't had to do anything about inflation the entire ride.

They probably do. I'm going to look at O'Reilly and Auto-zone. They have cheesy bling stuff like this. It was a gift from my kid, and so I like to try and have it on the bike. He thinks it's awesome. To me, that's all that matters.
