8:15 AM New Year's Day started off with a crisp temp of 48˚F...

Rode out to Boerne for the Blessing of the Bikes and met up with some other Centex-ers...

That's Raman (Big Papa Pump) on the left and Steve (Sparky51) on the right.

Hildr tried to blend in with the other 450 bikes, or so...but was unsuccessful as were the other five Valkyries...

Mr. Burnout (and grandson), Old Geezer, Sparky51, Big Papa Pump, Damian and Me (f-Stop) plus two guests made for a very nice CenTex VRCC day!

After the Blessing concluded, we had lunch in New Braunfels and then parted ways.  Sure was great seeing everybody and sure was a great way to start the New Year!

Nice job, Charlie and crew!  It was 44, had rained, and was still really foggy when I needed to be KSU for the Pie Run.  Glad you all got out.

Happy New Year everyone!

Thanks Disco!    cooldude

The weather service had predicted a similar forecast for these parts and all of us had said that we'd stay in if the foretold weather pattern were true.  But somehow, we lucked out with dry roads and nearly clear skies.  Temps warmed up too, making for a wonderful day to ride!

Finally got a chance to ride today for the 2nd ride of the New Year.  A bit chilly, but a fantastic ride through the Hill Country nonetheless!  Didn't stop along the way, so I took this pic at dusk in the driveway afterwards...

Got in a nice ride today, very windy and clear.

This was once a corner store, I went to school across the road in a three room school that went to the eigth grade. For ten cents you could by five jack cookies and a slice of balogna for lunch. That is if and when you could find a dime on the ground. Those two poles on the right of the building are vents for an underground tank. You hand pumped gas into the glass container at the top and it gravity flowed to the car. That was a long time ago.

If you are riding  and it is a must that you keep your eyes on the road, you are riding too fast.
