Well I had the E3’s on my Valk and hated them. They were noisy, cup badly and lasted only 9000 miles which was 8000 miles longer than I could stand from them. I need to install new tires on the Wing and I have been a Bridgestone fan for a long time. I been hearing some really good things about the new E4’s from other Wing riders.  The claim is they are not as noisy as the E3, and do not cup and will last to 15 to 18000 miles if properly inflated.

So I gave them a shot this time and todays ride I tested them out. The ride comforted and handling is much better than the Bridgestone’s. The bike feels more stable and moves into the corners quicker. Some of the roads were wet but not soaked and the tires had no issues here. I like them a lot so far. Time will tell if I will get the mileage out of them or they will start to cup as the mileage goes up.

Stay tune

I didn't even know they were making E4's. It's a good looking tire. Hopefully they will expand the sizes made.

Currently have 12,322 Miles on my Michelin Alpin. It's dirty because I followed Big Dave through the puddles...

That is an option, but I'm not ready for a car tire.

"damn, that tire looks good for 12k  cooldude I might have to try that one next."

Be aware that the car tire is not for everyone/or bike.
That tire is a Michelin Alpin Z/P or run flat.

I put it on for a few reasons. The biggest being that I wanted to see what all of the fuss was about.
Second being that I never have to worry about a blow out.

I loved it so much on my GW that I put one on my IS.

I disliked it so much on my IS that I took it off and gave it to Mike.

I don't know what the difference was but I still have it on my GW and still love it..

Unfortunately they don't make the E4 in the Valk sizes yet. I've heard good things about the E4 though.

I didn't experience what Fred H is talking about, but the roads I rode on were wet not soaked. I had no slippage at all, but I have a tendence to slow down and not be as aggressive in wet weather. As everyone knows I have no problem riding in wet weather, so I'm sure I will get another chance to try out this tire in the rain and if I experience what Fred H did you know I will change them out. Only time will tell.

Dave
Not exact OEM size but last summer I had a flat ( huge nail ) while in Sedona AZ. Called a shop in Flagstaff and they had an E 4 that was the closest to Valks OEM size had no choice in what they had and had it put on and have had no problems with it. Although I wasn't running an OEM size before.

Found out yesterday the E4 cannot handle this.

Pick up my bike from Western Honda yesterday and was going to go to my condo in Heber to check if the ABS light was fixed in the cold weather. 15 miles east of Payson on the road all by myself I pick up this little gem. It was about a 10 second wild ride to get the bike to the shoulder of the road. Try to patch it but the hole was just too big and I found out later that the inside sidewall of the tire was cut almost completely through. Mark said even if I would have gotten the patch to hold the sidewall would have failed shortly. Had to tow it back to Phoenix last night to D&D. I decided to not invest in another E4 at this time and go back to the Stones. D&D has a policy not to mix and match and I’m ok with that, so Mark bought back the front tire from me and I Install the stones front and back. Mark said that he wanted me to be happy with the products that I have bought from D&D. I think they have great customer service. Even though I did not have any major problems with the E4 in the short time that I had them the new reports that are coming out on them that a select few are having some problem in the rain gives me pause. They are not off my list of tires to buy, but I will give them more time on the market to get feedback from more bikers, so back to my trusted stones.

And the tire that Tom gave me is still sitting in my garage. I don't see me putting it on my bike anytime soon as I have a ton of mileage left on my Austin Taxi Tire which I enjoy. If Tom doesn't mind I'd be happy to give it away to someone that may use it sadly, it just won't be me.

I'm sad to see you are not in tiptop shape yet. I still believe you will be carving up the miles in no time. Take care my friend.  Smiley

Pay it forward Mike...  It's a Michelin Primacy Alpin.  Non Run Flat

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?  Cheesy
BTW Mr. Uh, Head.  Cool I'm feeling better all the time I just don't think I'd like the squared profile of Tom's gift. I appreciate the friendly gesture, I'm just liking the rounded profile of the Austone more. Probably just feel safer on the one that brung me. Let me know if there's any interest in the tire. It's like brand new and anyones' for the asking.

GL1800 GW rider report at our weekly meet, that he had gotten almost 19K KM on his E4. Pulling a trailer the whole ride. New tires on before the trip. Figure he still has about 25% life left.

Sorry I didn't see this post until now...  I run 28 Lbs in the run flat so it probably rides softer than a regular C/T.  It's the only one that I've had on my GW so nothing to compare it to.
