Looking to mount a Ram ball to steering stem but OEM nut has a dome.

Need to find thread size.

Here's part number.

Why not get a bar mount?  I drilled and tapped holes in my top clamp and screwed my otterbox case directly to my handlebar clamp. Holds better than any ram mount I've seen

May have to do that, but I wanted to try this first.

I used the handlebar clamp base http://www.rammount.com/part/RAM-B-367U to mount the GPS on my Standard using the included hardware, works great.

These

http://www.ebay.com/itm/X-Grip-RAM-Motorcycle-Bike-Car-Mount-Cellphone-Holder-USB-Charger-For-Phone-GPS-/262640131855?hash=item3d26925f0f:g:DeoAAOSwLnBX5dDO

are well built, inexpensive and have USB power.  They include all the necessary mounting hardware that RAM charges extra for.  The mirror mount is removable allowing the unit to mount to any existing RAM ball.
